As a NA player, I've gotten accustomed to being able to play on the EU server knowing that it's actually located in NA and that I will therefore experience little to no latency. Now a couple of months in they dare to move it to an entirely different continent, just to accommodate some whining Europeans? This is bull! I demand that this server stay in NA along with the NA server, because I refuse to be slightly inconvenienced! I should get to use both servers with zero latency!

Will they be moving the physical server to Europe?
Does Europe have a completely new megaserver set up on European soils? If so, does that allow more resources in North America to be designated for the US server?

✭That will be new hardware in Germany with virtual servers that run on the physical servers.
The NA hardware now has much more space and network capacity available...should they choose to use it.
Depends if they own the gear outright or are renting at the end of the day.

It's great news though and really excited for you EU players (NA myself). Long overdue and hope it's a better experience for you guys even if just marginally.

Well, only ZOS employees will know all of the details for sure, but I'm pretty sure they're not physically moving the hardware that's currently in NA over to Europe. If they were, the server would be down for longer than the 8 or 9 hours that they're projecting, because just a flight to Europe would eat up most of that time, let alone the time to disconnect and pack everything up, the time to unpack and reconnect, etc.I'm curious as to how this move works.

Nice! I'll be sure to check out the game again and find out it plays with 15 ms ping.

There'll be a bit less internet latency which will hopefully, possibly, might, may, god I hope so, improve things, but the server lag will persist.0 -

Nah it will just be a bunch of servers built in the EU and either the data or the actual VMs themselves will be moved. But no actual hardware.Edited by CapuchinSeven on July 28, 2014 7:22PM0
