Console update?

Hello everyone. I am a huge ESO fan and even bigger TES fan. I have been waiting for ESO for about 2 years now. I was going to get it on PC but then heard it will also have a Xbox One version. Imo, If you're not playing TES games on a console, you're doing it wrong. Anyhow, I have pre-ordered the physical CE for Xbox since late January. I have been waiting FOREVER. ZoS, Can you PLEASE give us an update on how the game is going on consoles? A beta date for consoles? ANYTHING. Thank you =D

    Good luck.

They seem to have an aversion to answering questions about the console releases despite the fact that there are lots of questions, not just about when they will release.

My favorite was when they ignored everyone's questions about how exactly the transfers will work as the deadline approached, came, and passed.

And one chief reason my billing has been ended. If it's not something they can fluff at a marketing event, these people don't like to communicate with their customer base the way normal MMOs do.

All they've said since the delay announcement is that there will, in fact, be console releases.

Frankly, you'll have better luck calling your local software retailer and asking the teenybopper du jour for info about this than asking here.

Easily the dumbest thing I have heard in a month ..... thanks for making me blow coffee out my nose!

I fail to see how playing TES on a PC is doing it wrong... and take it from a player who spent hundreds of hours on Skyrim on Xbox. I wouldn't swap my PC for 3 Xbox one today

Other than limiting your options and system capabilities what advantage is there to playing on a console?

When I switched to PC, I felt I was going to be overwhelmed by all the keys on keyboard and sought for an alternative for the pad, since I also thought playing on a pad with a PC was completely defeating the benefit of a keyboard. I opted for a Razor Orbweaver and it was the best thing I did. I have now pristine graphics and flexible playability at the tip of my fingers. It makes me feel like I have the best of both. Really, playing on console is fine but many things are limited. It makes no sense to make such a statement

I console and PC game...Sometimes it's nice to be able to game from the sofa. And not have to deal with keeping a PC upgraded, etc. Both have ups and downs.

Regardless, some actual info on the console releases would be nice.

There is no "doing it wrong." You either like the performance and flexibility of the PC versions or the low-maintenance, "just jump in" nature of the console. Anyway, I hope you guys get some info soon.

Yeah, doesn't work for me. Couch is so far from the tv that keyboard and mouse become a problem. Even then, you have to constantly lean over the coffee table or have keyboard on your lap.

Console just works better for that.

Yeah, the coffee is a bit of a bugger. Sorted it with a platter lol

There's a way around everything lol. But hey, not everybody can play on a 50" TV from their sofa ;)

    I do, it's just on a console.

Played Skyrim mostly prone and under a blanket that winter. Epic lazy. I hate winter. LOL

As I said, I'm a PC and console gamer. Both have their merits.

But there's no reason to be a snob about it one way or the other. Let's face it, most games are console games these days, whether you play them on a console or PC.

This is one of them. So were the last two TES games. If you don't care to have the best video card or mods it's all the same, really. I had been playing MMOs for years when I got Oblivion for PC when it released. It literally felt dumbed down from what I was used to. Had no problems playing it on console.

Agree absolutely, and I too have played both, but favour the PC. I think the main reason for some comments is because the OP actually stated if ESO is not played on a console then "you are doing it wrong". Possibly an unfortunate choice of words, and one bound to attract adverse comments :)

Consoles (particularly the Xbox) also tend to have much better built-in voice chat support than PC's. Not that there is any reason for a MMO to NOT have built in voice chat support in the PC version, but very few do.

Forgetting the console versus PC debate, notice how this thread has been answered with the sounds of crickets chirping?

As was the ones earlier this month. As was mine from last month. As were others before that.

They just refuse to give any specifics about the console versions.

Please, SOMETHING. Anything. It's been since the announcement in May that anything's been said beyond that they will happen.
