I don't mind the doge, a cosmetic item doesn't really have an impact in your gameplay experience (TF2 being the exception), and as always it seems this thread will get the usual bot response "LOL ADD AS NON-STEAM GAME".

Really though, it's sad to see how much garbage is filling the Steam hub currently (besides the people who are having cool first impressions), if you Zenimax actually gave us the chance to play the game on Steam we could boost the sales with Trading Cards or chatting with our forgotten friends, we could fill the screenshots galleries with PvP extravaganza, or fill the artwork section with the art of this thread's spoilers, add guides to help the newcomers, share videos or at least give the "Decent" reviews this game deserves.

Right now you're separating your game community in two halfs that aren't really healthy in their current state.

This guy's thread can give you more insight if you don't already have it.

Hell, trolls have been buying the game for the sole reason of flaming it down to Oblivion, seriously though.

Sorry to bump but this is outrageous, the amount of uninformed reviews is overwhelming, and the people who would rather give this game a decent review can't do anything to balance it out, the artwork is non-existant on the platform, we can't help those having trouble in the steam discussions and guides are non-existant.

This is your fault ZOS, the community for this game has been split in two different parts, and if you don't do something about this soon the Steam sales will totally fail (if they haven't by now, it looks like it happened already).

Hypothetically, if ZoS gave out steam keys to current customers (or even a steam key at a reduced cost). What do you think would happen? Many (and probably most of those) keys would end up being sold on ebay or elsewhere. Sure I think it would be great to be on steam for the reasons you suggested but as far as I know there is no way for ZoS to prevent abuse.

They could easily create a redemption category of keys that would only activate the game on your Steam account but wouldn't give you a CD key at all, people you sold these keys to would still have to buy the full game through the main store if they wanted to play anyways.

Yeah , i found weird that people would buy the game just to bash , granted , i can understand that they dislike the game , but paying just for that seems weird.

until zen shows they learned not to release content only to new players , not buying this is just saving money, i would not pay for another copy just to make a negative steam review.

Oh well , to each their own.

I am changing my somewhat neutral view of why aren't current customers getting steam access because of the recent Borderlands update:

"- Removed SecuRom from the title and all DLC
    - Added a “Granting Tool” In the steam “Tools” section that turns a retail disc into a Steam version of Borderlands
    - “News Ticker” added to the main menu to give you updates on the Multiplayer restoration updates.
    - Imported SecuRom DLC keys into Steam, so if you bought DLC outside of Steam, activate it within Steam and get your matching content."

Note - that Gearbox somehow managed to allow the import of a retail disc into a steam version and import SecuRom DLC keys from other sources and have them become steam DLC. ZoS really needs to rethink their handling of this situation.

He is talking about a cd-key for use of the game on steam, not unlocking the ESO game which you still have to do with the cd-key you get when you buy it on steam, you still have to setup a cc and everything even if you buy it on steam
