Is there a "Preview item on character" option?

There wasn't one in the beta to my knowledge, is one here now? I'd really like to know how a piece of armor looks on my character before I buy/make it!

They do not have this ability implimented at this time. Yes, its annoying but you will have to look at your inventory first before doing the buy/make (like I said, annoying)

Depends if options responsble are avaible to moders (after last Addons nerf) -but for example in Secret World im using a "Wardrobe" addons that show you how all various clothing look on your character.
So this kind of addons was created before

It should just be a feature created by the developers not an "add-on". One of the touted features of this game is being able to create your character and play your way. Preview functions are in every major and most minor MMOs. This is definitely a huge deficiency and should be implemented sooner rather than later.

In a recent AMA they said they would like to add this feature but it's not high on the list right now.

Making an item preview would be great, especially if you are crafting your own armor. The little one inch picture they have representing the item rarely looks how the actual weapon or armor comes out, especially with female characters. And at present it is just annoying, inconvenient, and a waste to have to tab out of the game and go to a web site that has pictures of all the gear or have to make two or three sample pieces just to see how it would look on your character. And with the website option that is all player made material, so there are gaps in what you can actually see. Its getting better as more people submit pictures, but it can get annoying when you want to decide between three different styles and there is only a picture of two of them and only one of the two has a picture post patch or in the quality range you are making.

There's a dispute amongst players as to whether or not this should be added. I personally support it but the argument against is that it would let elitist group leaders quickly inspect a player and deny them entry to a group if their gear wasn't a high enough level.

@Surragard you've misunderstood this one.

This one isn't about inspecting gear on others, it's about seeing what a piece of gear looks like before you craft it.

Nobody opposes this one, a few want other things done first, but it's a Quality of Life improvement.

@AlexDougherty‌ Touché I did indeed misread this. I agree that the thumbnails you get at the crafting station are too small to be able to tell for sure what you're getting. I would love a 3D render that you could zoom in and out on and turn around 360 degrees.
