I found Molag Bal a pushover on my Dragonknight, purely because of how overpowered Deep Breath becomes. I never dropped beneath 75% health because Deep Breath would instantly return me to full health. I imagine it's the same with every other health-draining ability. I'm not saying that Deep Breath needs nerfing, as it's a well-balanced ability the rest of the time, but the blessing of Akatosh needs to stop making health-draining abilities so powerful.

No solo content is hard if you play well. People that got wiped 30-50 times are doing it terribly wrong.

Perhaps not, but forced-solo content in an MMO simply should not exist. Should it be solo-able? Sure. But it should never be forced.

Leave that crap for single-player games without a subscription.

Ok put on your earmuffs if you don't want spoilers, but I felt the need to reply to this.

Don't you people get it? What happened at the end of Oblivion? What happened when you went to take on Molag Bal? Does it occur to you that perhaps there is more in common with the player character hero and Martin Septim? Don't you find it interesting that Meridia waited for you before launching an attack against Molag Bal? Don't you find it interesting that it is YOU that fights Molag Bal? Even more interesting these skyshards are a manifestation of Akatosh, upon the summoned effort of the Prophet. You use the Amulet of Kings. You. I'm going to argue that as the player, in that moment at that time you are in fact Dragonborn, and the only reason you don't die is that someone else does. Notice the Aedric weapons that you attack with? The Aedric fire?

Either way it is a fun fight and I quite enjoyed it.

He comes back in Oblivion. He would have escaped even if you hadn't released him. Who knows what ultimately happens to you.

I didn't even struggle against molag, i actually felt sad for him, (even though i was a sorc with terrible skills back then).

You get a glimpse of the power of Akatosh himself, since you're an empty vessel it's as if you had reached CHIM for a few moments, the fight against molag bal doesn't represent your true mortal powers, as you said, most people who struggle against him are the ones who simply spam buttons and don't even roll or avoid his attacks.
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

I had the same experience. I realized he was simply a matter of kiting correctly. My first encounter with him was on my sorc. Sure, sorc are considered OP, but all I did was hit with him Degeneration and light attacks the entire time. ANY CLASS CAN DO THAT!

mannimarco IS harder. ALOT harder. your AI companions cant tank whatsoever, so he only focuses on you. i had to hide behind pillars and keep moving around them so he would not cast any spells, and let lyris do all the damage.:/

Man this has got to be the stupidest fight in the game as a mostly melee Templar with roughly equal distribution of health, magicka and stamina points... Basically you have to run around continually blocking his attacks, meaning you can't really use melee attacks, so in the end had to grind him down with Silver Bolts and Brawler, combined with constant self-heal when his attacks got through the block...

Yea that was the real fight. I HATED that so hard.

Personally, I loved the Molag Bal fight. It was easy, fortunately I had swallow soul slotted at that time, and that healed me to full every time I used it. It was a long fight, but still very easy and very rewarding. I was dreading what this fight would be after those skeletons, but it was made to be fun and a bit of a break from all the nightmare fights behind it.

Molag bal was a joke compared to Manimarco, and an even bigger joke to what the storyline had played him up as. I went in today as a level 45 sorc 3epics pieces including a wep, and a mix of all greens/blues all light armor. 1 shot him without a problem, maybe 3min fight. My expectations was so much more, the fact that we were actually able to "defeat him" was very unsatisfying. i was hoping the story would turn in a way of maybe he pulls out something awesome and totally kicks our ass, to save an epic fight for another day.

On a positive note thou, i did rather enjoy the entire storyline, it did give a great sense of adventuring into hell kind of deal. just disappointed on how easy the ending was

The whole point is he is supposed to be easy. You worked hard all the way up, ZOS is just giving you a fun fight as a a reward at the end.

You are all juiced up on god power, otherwise you would get smooshed by Mr Bal right away.

It turned out to be easy, but I loved it.

I was given ultimate power with the amulet of kings. Running up a twisting hill to a fight, which had me very worried, one shotting deadra with that whistling 'sent back to oblivion (?) effect. Burning giant holes through walls with my bare magic infused hands. coming face to face with Molag bal who could have just bitten my head off or squeezed me till it popped off. the amulet of kings.

My NB was in 5medium, 1heavy, 1light armour all green/fine. alternated between ranged attack with standard bow attacks, poisoned arrow every so often and swallow soul. when my magica ran low I popped invisibility, got in close and basically spammed flurry with light attacks in between until my stamina ran dry, popped a stamina potion and back to ranged attacks.

The titans that came (counted 6 or 7, thought there was only 4?) nearly all died to one ranged shot of my bow which I was very surprised about.

My DW and Medium armour skills were maxed out so I had all the passives, medium armour passives helped a lot I think.

I'm looking forward to and dreading, in equal measure, fighting him with my more melee range alts as they take the big hits more often even if they do hit harder.

He looked so big and badass on the run up to the actual fight. Once I got to him though he was a wimpy little small guy. A high pitched, screechy helium voice would have been more fitting for him.

I did Molag Bal a week ago with my VET 1 sorcerer and I didn't even die once. I got there like "Oh god Imma die so often" but I was surprised how easy he was. Keeping him distant, having a few potions, that's all. If you look what mechanics he uses... I only hit him with light attacks of my destro staff.
I also agree Mannimarco was harder.

I fought him half an hour ago with a VR1 Dragonknight. When the titans spawned, I though "OMG I'm so screwed!" Then they dropped like flies. :| I could just stand there and spam light attacks on Molag Bal without dropping a sweat if I wanted to. I understand I'm imbued with Aedric power, but... I don't know. Blasting holes in walls was fun though.

i had the exact same reaction. the buff they give you for the fight makes the biggest boss fight in the game so bizarrely easy it was underwhelming and very disappointing

Although I can understand that Zeni wanted to give everyone a break by making MB a bit easier to defeat at the end of the main storyline, I also came away with that feeling of "That's it?". I think they could have made him a bit harder and more of a challenge without getting to a point of shear frustration like they did with Mannimarco. I can't tell you how many times I said the F word with that guy :)

Actually I had to go back and defeat MB again because I got stuck in the Colored Room because of a bug.

I had a heavy enough fight against Molag Bal... but I was only Level 45 at that point. And melee combat charas seem to have more problems in dealing with him than casters.

Oh dear, oh well. Manimarco nearly killed me, well 20% or so. My OhSh*t potion is part of what killed him. 300 spell critical health and stamina ... and down he went, well up actually, Disappointing.

I guess I could fight Molag Bal naked. ;)

Guys, if you say it was too easy, have you forgotten you spent lv1 to 50 looking for the amulet of kings? The hard bit about molag bal fight isn't the fight itself, but the preparation to empower yourself enough to kick his arse and send him back oblivion. For me, there was nothing more enjoyable than the godlike feeling the amulet gave me. I've been through hell to get that power, now eat my sword molag bal!

I was a melee, easy. learn his pattern, stay out of red, keep moving. Not hard at all.

I was level 50 and in all blues I crafted myself. I beat him easily with just Crystal Blast, Heavy/Light attack with Resto staff, and Inner Light active, and the other 3 slots were from the resto staff skill line. Was not a challenge at all except perhaps when he spawned about 10 Titans. At that point I just morphed into Emperor Palpatine and just lightning zapped them all dead.
