Yup, I'm proposing if you want to duel someone you have to acquire a particular fish first in order to do it!

The initial post was meant as a talking point and discussion... with valid arguments, reasons, and alternatives. I'd be more interested in having an item or something be required to participate in a 1v1 arena like in Oblivion. Dueling should be for practice, if people don't want to duel give them an option to auto decline.0 -
Araflin✭✭✭I understand your point @moxiesauce, but "Auto Decline" does cause traffic, no matter how miniscule. I believe they are proposing some form of arena - and on a personal note that's the best place for duels to take place - not in the middle of low level towns, PvP zones, or finding hideaways in the landscape that allow them.
The option to challenge someone to a duel, however, should be allowed in a town. I know this will mostly appeal to Rp'ers but I'd just like to see some effort into offering a duel rather than the usual, just hit a button.
If you want to duel for it's own sake.. go hang out in the arena "bar / courtyard".. if you want to challenge someone in particular.. go slap them with a fish / throw your gauntlet!

Araflin✭✭✭On the arena issue.. I also think you should have an option to make it a public or private arena.
Maybe spectators could pay a nominal gold fee for a seat to watch. Fellow guild members would potentially get a discount.
Private arenas are paid for by one, both, or all parties involved simply for the guards wages who keep the public out
