VR1 set for my DK tank

So I am approaching VR1 on my DK. I have a sorc that I was going to tank on, and on paper it looks great, but the bottom line is, she lacks a "oh crap" type button in general. No direct heal etc. Her resistances and armor are insane though. So, I am going back to my DK.
That said, I am trying to figure out what armor is good for the DK in early VR content. Obviously I want to try to make up for her weaknesses, but it seems like early VR content, I am still needing more and more health. So, my first thought would be Song of Lamae. health recovery and a secondary oh crap proc. OTOH, having more health is never a bad idea, and I will most likely be overcharged dramatically on health recovery with GDB.
Can anyone point me in the best direction of both survability but still having enough resources to actually use abilities?

Tigeracer✭✭✭✭Roll a NB, lol. My NB can tank just about anything and never run out of resources.
I would never advise someone to reroll though. You should be happy using a DK or even your sorc. So before I go any further, are you using your DK because you want to or because it's easier? If you are doing it because you are fed up with your sorc, just say so and I will help you work on your sorc. If you really want to go DK, I can help you there too

Troponin✭✭✭The DK is just a better suited tank, unfortunately. I don't want to put a ton of work in to the Sorc, only to realize the folks on the forums were right; DK offers the most versatile tanking options and a lots of them. I think the Templar would be better suited than the sorc as well. A good tanking class would offer both extra mitigation and a way to directly heal. There are no oon-demand, direct heals for the sorc, Critical surge is as close as it gets.

Tigeracer✭✭✭✭DK is definitely the better tank, but if you like sorcs then stick with that dude.

Song of lamae, torugs pact and hundings rage (3 of each).
Get ALL passives for shield and sword, heavy armour and storm calling. Power stone and Daedric protection for daedric summoning and all light armour passives except prodigy.
Your block mitigation will be amazing, magicka should never run out (because of ult) and you have decent healing too, especially against casters (use absorb magic to heal when casters are attacking).0 -
poodlemasterb16_ESO✭✭✭✭✭My level 41 glass canon vampire witch has a much easier time that my level 38 tanky sorc.
It can be done, and with Surge and general weapon buffs, he can hit quite hard but he has no real way to get health back fast outside of potions. Dark Exchange uses up all your stamina and is not very helpful.
My vampire witch just rocks and rolls through amazing amounts of trash as she can constantly get health and stamina back from them.Edited by poodlemasterb16_ESO on July 28, 2014 9:26PM0 -
traigusb14_ESO2✭✭✭✭✭Always consider hist armor set as a tank too.. 20% free dodge while blocking (will be changed to 18% soon). it is a 5 set, but it helps avoid a ton of damage while actively tanking (blocking)0
