How about ''Mentor'' program?

Okay, so when me and i my friend started playing teso, we made all our lvling together and help eachother wich was really fun, but then life got in the way and we couldnt play as much togheter anymoore, as of now i am almost vr12 and hes still not lvl 50 yet.

So the other day, we both had free time from work and such, so we tought; Hey maybe i can try and help you with some stuffs, do some random tanking and so on, to make it abit easier and faster for him to catch up with me.

Didnt take long before we realised that didnt work, since ive already cleared most of the zones and no enimies would show up for me.

So i got this idea, what about mentor programs?

A feature where higher lvled players can take on say a quest, maybe they can tie it to the Elderscrolls V with the elderscroll that lets you look back in time or something?
Im sure there is one way or another to make it fit in the lore, where you are able to go back in time to help your friends along the way, or fix the misstake you did.
I dont really know, im not a lore expert of the teso games, just a general fan :)

Cause it really sucks that i cant help my friends as much as a would like too, and with all the ppl here on the forums im sure you all have some awesome ideas how to make this work, and i know im not the only one that feels there should be something like this in game.

A quest/System or w/e that lets you join the zones seen as a nother player even though youve already finished it before.

What you guys think?

If they implemented it in a way that scaled your character down to their level, I'd be ok with that. I'm not ok with a system that would allow a high-level character to clear content for a lower-level one. That's not how any game should work.

And on a lore note: it absolutely shouldn't be tied to reading an elder scroll. You'll put your eye out, kid.

+1 wouldn't recommend reading an elder scroll :)

I love the idea as mentor in a duelling aspect which is coming to some degree. The last comment touched on only being at low level....

The new group content will be scaled to the group leader when grouped or individual when solo. So perhaps making your friend the group leader will scale the content to suit them. But this does beg the question....'what happens if 1 noob group leader joins up with 3 Vets ?' Obviously they will steam roll all content. So what happens there ?

This is why I argued for rebalancing the system on level for characters npc and monsters. That way you could take a level 3,6,9,12 into a dungeon and take on a level 30 monster or NPC for instance. It also means level 50 characters could take on VR12 characters as both are level 50....instead of getting creamed.

Okay, i get it with the scroll, was just the first thing that poped in to my head :)

But yeah, there could be a problem with balance ofc, but im thinking they can make it as a quest simply.
Become a mentor and take on a pupil, you get a reward when that pupil is a certain level and maybe a exp boost when both are online at the same time. And the Mentor can follow the pupil in to the same ''shard'' of the area so you can help them.
Would be fun atleast, to be able to help out someone who is new to the game and really doesnt know what to do too.

The game is pretty good about teaching you what to do in combat, but again, if your level isn't scaled down, then I don't support the idea. Your "pupil" won't learn anything if they're seeing you cleave through enemies with wild abandon.

I would definitely like the ability to scale your level down to be the equivalent of people who you want to group with. The way I see it there should be 2 options for this in grouping tools. The first would be to have the option to right click on somebody in your group, and then scale down to the same level as them (I'd imagine that you'd keep your skill points, but your stats and abilities would be proportionally reduced). The second would be to select in the group finder tool that you want to look for a group doing content below your level. You would then have the option of selecting any of the group activities (dungeons, open world, etc) that are currently unavailable in the group finder due to you being too high level for them, and you would be scaled down to the highest level in that activity's range (so if a dungeon says it's for levels 28-31 and you're level 45, you'd be scaled down to 31 and put into the queue).

I feel like this would help build the social aspect of the game (because who hasn't run into situations where one friend/guildmate out-levels another, and then they can't really play together in a fun way until someone catches up), as well as make it easier for people like me who find themselves constantly out-leveling dungeons before thinking about doing them, and then can't use the group finder tool at all.
