Would you rather be challenged in PvP, or would you rather win?

Some of the discussions I've had in vent and on these forums has me thinking -
If people simply enjoy winning, does it even matter if the game is fun?
Is it simply winning that is the fun, or do people crave more?

Where is the fun in always winning without a challenge. It is always more fun to be challenged and have to work for something than simply blah your way through and win.

A well-fought loss beats a win-due-to-attendance in most any game. Or at least it should, anyway.

Im not a PvP player , im a player that joins in PvP.

Therefore i dont really seek a challenge , neither i just seek to win.

I seek to have fun while playing in PvP , sometimes i have it by winning in a situation where i pretty much could not lose at all and sometimes i have it by losing in a very close call situation.

I think just about everybody wants some level of challenge. I also think just about everybody wants to overcome that challenge and win.

The problem with this discussion is people are going to argue over what is or isn't challenging. Declaring play styles they don't like as "easy mode" while their play style requires leet mad skillz.

Yeah, not a poll that will warrant much information (aka, honesty)

If I'm in a group, I want to find the biggest f*cking zerg on the map. To me that is a challenge. To some others that is a risk not worth taking because they might lose.

When I run solo and get the jump, I don't find that as challenging. By the time the enemy knows I'm there they are down to half health. Now if I get jumped, that is challenging! Especially when running a healer spec!

A win is just icing on the cake so the challenge is what I look for first.

Pro Tip: Form a group of 4 and hang out with the zerg. Now you can claim you only run with 4. I'm l33t

Uhm both... since both am a part to the same answer, if by meaning exploiting my way to success, then I rather not.

So I want the challenge and I want to win the challenge against other PC's

I would rather be challenged but with a chance to win. It is not fun going up against overwhelming odds just as its no fun outnumbering an opponent.

If there is no chance of winning or always winning I would take neither. I want to fight hard for what I obtain.

how would it be fun if you always won? I myself love facing challenging players. I have a lot more fun facing a VR12 than I do facing a level 40. if all people care about is winning, they can join a dead campaign where there is little to no competition like some guilds have done

Challenged, because I learn from my mistakes and deaths and it makes me rethink what I am doing. Then, I win.

You can have one without the other or both. But this poll is a choice.

Rather having challenge means you don't care if it is a fight you can see you cant win. I can say most sorcs and some night blades out there would (if they were honest) pick rather win, because if they see something they cant win because the challange is too high, they Bolt escape or shadow cloak away. Mostly sorcs, with very few nightblades.

Don't quite understand the question. How do you "win" ESO in this context? Are you talking about capping all the keeps across the map and keeping them for the entire campaign? In my view, that would become PVE, and rather boring.

I hope by reducing the the number of campaigns we can avoid low pop scenarios where it's hard to find any battle.

I don't think I ever cared about winning tbh.
I play fair, and I refuse to take shortcuts. PvP for me, is to compete and have fun, and if someone is winning over me because they are the better player, then all cred to them.
