Why does Dampen Magic take so long to level?

For 3-4 VR levels now I've been doing solo PVE with 1 weapon bar used for combat and the other bar is entirely for skills to level up by swapping to that 2nd bar to turn in quests. I have leveled many skills so far this way and nothing has come close to the amount of time it is taking to level Dampen Magic. I even went as far as taking screen shots and measuring XP bar length to make sure it was even moving. In the time it took the bar to move about 1/20ths of the total length for Dampen Magic III, I have leveled Evasion I through to Evasion IV and Elude up to III. I have also gone through 20-30 skills taking them to max level this way, and still Dampen Magic hasn't even reached its morph.

I understand that certain skills level faster than others and have run in to that from time to time so far while leveling. Something weird seems to be going on with Dampen Magic though. Anyone else agree or do you think some skills are just meant to take ages to level?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Dampen Magic the morph?

That still sounds slow for leveling a morphed skill, but I'm also confused about how you could have been simultaneously leveling Evasion/Elude, as that takes up the same slot.

Some just take ages to level. That's one such -- though your experience does sound slower than what I recall.

UUggh yeah. Nevermind on the whole topic. I meant to take Harness Magicka but I guess somewhere along the line I morphed without thinking. It makes much more sense now for a morph skill to level so slow.
