Mount Improvement Idea

When I make alts, horses suck. I'm used to 50% speed. I end up with 15%. It takes forever to get a decent mount again.

So, my suggestion is to make an account-wide system to make alts easier to get good mounts for.

Each type of horse would be independent in this system, so if you improve an imperial edition horse, it won't apply for any horse except the imperial.

So, say I upgrade a horse to 50% speed on my main character. I buy that same mount on my alt. Now I simply suggest the daily feeding period be ignored up to the level that was previously reached, allowing you to outright buy your way to the same level on alts.

Say my horse was level 30. My alt can now buy that same horse and upgrade it straight to 30 by paying for upgrades. At that point, the waiting period kicks back in and I must wait a day to upgrade the horse again.

I'd even go as far as to say it would be fair to raise the price from 250 to maybe 400 after the first feeding every day, so people could choose the inexpensive daily feeding or pay extra to get levels faster.

Of course, the first time leveling a type of mount would take as long as it currently does and would still only cost 250 daily.

I think this would make playing alts a bit more rewarding (or at least approachable), and it would also provide a new gold sink, which seems to be needed.

I really like investing in my horse and taking care of it daily, and be rewarded with more speed/stam/inv. :( I would prefer not to skip this. People who care for their mounts should be rewarded...

It's an interesting idea, but I would rather have the Stables be account-wide, with a reduction in cost for new stable space. Then I could put one horse in the Stable with one char and take it out again on an alt.

    Exactly. Just like the bank.

Edit: Alternatively, let me put my horse in the bank...

I don't like this because it leaves less room to try different mount setups. That is unless you can buy duplicates of horse types.

I have 6 toons and each toon has 3 horses, which I feed every day. Some horses are maxed out and others halfway there. Since I purchased my first horse for $15 (or was it $20), all the others only cost 1 gold each.

The problem isn't the speed mounts, it's the cargo mounts.

If it's shared, are the saddle bags shared as well, because it's not enough space at max if they are. Or do you get 50/70 inventory spaces for all the characters, because Zenimax will raise the costs ten fold if that happens.

Putting a horse into the bank could work though, theoretically at least. But Zenimax won't do it, because the horse are supposed to be gold sinks.

You migh persuade them to let you copy a mount from another character, but it would probably be at least three times the total cost of the horse (buying price + 49 feeds).
