Templar DPS in Trials

I'd like to get some feedback from Templars playing DPS in trials.

1. How much single target damage are you able to get on a regular basis?
2. What skills, passives, and gear are you using?
3. I'd like to see links to builds if possible.

I prefer to heal but I would like to be able to do respectable damage to allow some flexibility with group comp when raiding.

    As trials is about being at range

    Dark Flare (does good damage and adds 50 spell power to next attack)
    Spell Symmetry (Might of the Guild passive, 10% spell power for next magical attack)
    Vampire's Bane (spam a few times then repeat)

    As your getting mana back with Spell Symmetry, you can cast endlessly (as the healer will be spamming area heals anyway) you can keep up 800dps (if you are using spell damage jewelry, full light set and about 50% spell crit)

    One templar should be casting Purifying Light, so if your the only non healer templar, have that loaded and Inner Light for last slot if your spell crit is under 50%

    As for ultimate, I use Flawless Dawnbreaker or Shatter Soul depending on what the build of the other 11 player are

    When doing the trash Blazing Spear and Total Dark is useful, but as its a dps race.....

    Great info, thanks @Natjur! I've been doing some testing and I ended up with many of those spells slotted. I need to work on my gear though, I primarily have all Magicka saving since items I usually heal.

    What kind of weapon do you use?

    If your out of mana your DPS drops so the only weapon I use it Restoration Staff (Cycle of Life = more dps anyway)

    You will be surprised by how many of the DPS use Restoration Staff the whole time. Some used to use Destruction Staff but as most don't even load a single Destruction Staff skill, Restoration Staff is currently the best weapon (sad but true).

    Crushing Shock + Light Attack with Vampire's Bane. Evil Hunter in AA (first 3 bosses). Potion, food ofc. 1000+ at first AA golem. Less and less at next bosses.

    Since our raid is farming AA now, I tryed a lot of templates as dps Templar

    For me magika is not such a problem, casting time of dark flare is. With animation cut and stuffs, I'm around 600 dps max with this build and I use daedric spear to add more dps.

    First boss of AA trial is not so much relevant since you can cast your nova, and the fight duration is less than 20 sec. It artificially raises your dps on short fights.
    Personnaly I tryed this build in trial but I was more around 500. I think sorcer with surge is a lot more adapted to this kind of build. Also I didn't use Evil hunter I thought it doesn't work, but I'll try again tonight to be sure.

    From my tests, my best dps is with :
    - Vampire's bane
    - Bitting jab
    - Power of the light
    - Aedric spear
    - Inner light
    (I have almost same on second bar with spell symetry and another utility spell depending on the boss)

    I can reach a solid 700+ dps on the whole fight and It's a very reliable template since you don't use much animation cut. You need to be melee but it's not such a problem when you know boss' paterns

    Evil hunter works. First boss is daedra, second is daedra, third is undead. You also should know crushing shock restore 26 mp x3 (elemental drain) per each cast. And you must use crushing shock at Hel Ra.
