Should main story VR questlines in enemy factions allow for an assassiation/subterfuge/diplomacy?

Do you seriously expect them to re-write the entire set of quest lines for all three factions?

    No...

The random quests in the zones, the dolmens, dungeons and all that are neutral and would stay the same. The suggestion is for an alternative main quest line (5 per zone). These are the ones that give skill points.

In some cases all that would be needed is some meaningful options added to the existing quests.

Actually since a large aspect of her was stuck in the city in coldharbor I would say she does have a large vested interest in restricting your free will in the other alliances so you don't stop the invasion from happening.

The main quest line already has you meet the other alliances and gain their support for the cold harbor invasion before you reach veteran ranks. This new alternative I am suggesting would be a natural and sequential progression of the storyline and would not need any involvement from Meridia.

Yes. I don't like killing my own faction. Story should be changed not back in time, but you are sent to cripple enemy forces. NPC's in majoy towns attack you on sight. You can still help townsfolk.

To late for me though. Yesterday i almost finished the Rift (1 quest to go) so i did all quests (1000+ as i got the 1000 quest achievement and only 3 where bugged for me in the proces and they where fixed later on).

Next stop.... maybe Craglorn as i haven't been there yet.

The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

The entire point of the VR system is expanding the game without having to make anymore content. You go through content that is already in the game. Making large changes to it would kind of ruin the whole point of it.

I totally agree with the idea of getting rid of Caldwell's Almanac. The whole 'what-if' premise of running through that content and is imo what makes VR levels grindy and boring. YES I want to see and explore the other areas with my toon... but just reusing quets/story content written for another faction was lazy. This cheats players out of replayability with alts and it ruins the consistency of the story line and ruins the faction experience.

It would have been better if there were no quests and just an empty area with delves, dungeons and anchors.

Molag bal should be the last thing g you do.
    1. Your first zone.
    2. Go to other zone to get cease fire in war, so you can get rid of molag bal.
    3. Go to third zone get the. To do the same.
    4. All three meet for true talk, just like they do anyway, but after you help all three.

The whole main story felt rushed.
Not epic enough compared to morrowind, where the main line took ages to complete.

While I'm sure it'd be cool if they'd set it up so we could spy and stuff, obviously making the other areas open up as veteran content saved the devs a lot of time to work on other things. Personally, my buddy and I have been going through, just attempting to make bad decisions for the other alliances to 'hurt their position' as it were.

They can save time by adding in more treacherous options to the existing quests.

But they cut/nerfed large swaths of the Vet Content and ruined the main point of grouping instead of putting in more motivation FOR grouping. So it is quite easy for me to see them making further changes, heh.

I was really hoping something along the lines of either choosing to spy for the faction you joined or deflecting to access Veteran content but nope. It could have been a lot more interesting . . .

My character is a loyalist of Boethiah.

She'd enjoy being able to "sabotage" absolutely everyone.

Just because my character has pre-written dialogue, doesn't mean that my character is being honest and not simply acting to keep up appearances and build influence and standing. I can understand it taking a while, but with regards to the story It would be great to be capable of acting more maliciously and deviously through having options written in, assuming your character has developed in a way where they're thoroughly against the enemies of the state that the faction your character fights from, not necessarily for, is at war with.

Not forgetting It would be enjoyable to sabotage everyone to an extent that doesn't demolish the story and watch the Mundus burn, Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, Ebonheart Pact and those that are neutral. Then sometime later, proceed to watch the lands of the ape-men, Tsaesci and so on burn.

That said, everything should burn before Boethiah.

Sure, write 3 more story lines for all factions going through the other factions. Call back the voice actors to do additional voice acting. Code in the new story lines and quests. Most likely could be done over a weekend with minimal cost.

Maybe. As long as it does not impact players of that faction questing in their zones.

or we can just spend that Dev money adding junk loot that no one asked for any almost everyone hates? Hmmm....

This is a premium game.... with a premium sub... They have ongoing production costs and it would not be that arduous, nor time-consuming to rework the 5/zone main quest lines to when it bolsters the plausibility of the main story and vastly improves the re-playability and longevity of the game.

Some of the quests just need more options and that's it....

If the game can afford the devs and time to do a full overhaul at PvE level for all 3 alliances this might be interesting but for real value you'd heed to be able to choose a positive path to make peace or a negative one to take over/defeat the other faction and in such a way as to have a manageable number of phases at the end.

If they could truly do all that in a branching way including sidequests tuned to the path you chose it could really be huge.

I'd rather like to see assassin/sabotage quests in PvP that actually has an impact on enemy alliances. These could be quests aimed at smaller groups in Cyrodiil.

Of course those who do not want this changed are VR that already went thru it or abhor the idea that the content would somehow be different than it would be on an alt, even though they do not even pay attention to the quests as they rush thru to finish as they level a new FOTM alt.

But the argument about production costs is silly for an MMO with somewhere under $15M in subs a month. This is the same game that has prominently placed text quests where nobody pays attention to the NPC who could be standing there mute just like they did in Morrowind because they are not going to wait for the voice acting to finish. Yet they just announced a major production update that is so huge they cannot even give a schedule for complete, because of all the work to change the facial bones and rework all the dialogue animations in all the languages for 'immersion' reasons, even though immersion would be removing the text box like some addons do so that there is actually a reason to improve the face anim such as people are actually watching the face.

If they can afford that, that makes the argument that changing the main quests in each zone is unaffordable out to be simple nonsense from people who have other reasons they do not want to admit to for not changing it. The quests to save the Dunmer townfolk from Dunmer zombies does not need to change. The poll makes it clear the existing story sucks and impacts alt replayablity which will have an impact on future subs continuing, which will impact their ability to make fresh new zones regardless.
