I really, really, want ZOS to make an authenticator for ESO. I love this game, and I want to keep my account being mine, and having an authenticator on my phone would really help with that.
15 years playing MMOs and have never had so much as a false password reset email come in from a game, let alone losing access to my accounts. Same with rl friends and family members. An authenticator is a nice extra layer of security but it won't magically help had security practices by users. The actual security impact is greatly exaggerated by people who don't take proper care of their computers and data.
Wouldn't mind one but not bothered much until then.
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent. Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them! -Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.
________________ -In-game mains abound with "Nerf" in their name. As I am asked occasionally, I do not play on anything but the PC NA Megaserver at this time.
Honestly they are really annoying too. If they fail for any reason then you can't play your game until you call into tech support. Very annoying. The Authenticators that came with diablo 3 where really bad for breaking. iOS version would forget your account a lot as well.
Kind of surprised ZOS doesn't offer one, especially in view of their asinine decision to show account names in-game.
I don't want one myself, like the others above I'm perfectly able to take care of my own security but as long as it isn't forced on me then many people seem to want one so no harm having them available.
