I think they said something about players only stealing if they enter stealth. If you loot the containers normally I'm not sure if it's any different than it is now. Now if you don't get punished for looting them normally, then you really can't complain if you steal, right?

I don't think so. If you take something that doesn't belong to you then unless the "eye" is closed you can be seen steeling it. I suspect this will be closely tied to the thieves guild and getting high level TG abilities will make is much easier to steel without being caught
If this is the typical player that Zenimax wants to keep, then they will lose this subscriber. It is looking more and more that my money isn't as good as the PVP players. Time to take it somewhere else.

Plain and simple.
...Or apparently 'become a guard'... which will be curious to see how that is implemented...
Do you have to talk to an NPC first to 'become a guard'? (i.e. flag yourself for PVP?) Or can you 'accidentally' flag yourself in some way?
I don't particularly care for PVP, but I am cool with it as long as it's consentual. I definitely want PVPers to have fun, as well, but not at the expense of non-PVPers. Implementation will be important, and I think a little concern/worry about it at this stage is warranted.

Yes but in order to 'become a guard', someone needs to have done either of the things mentioned above for a player to engage another player.
I doubt he literally meant become an actual guard. I think players will see a bounty sign with so and so's name and then be able to engage them.

Not really. Guards and criminals will be something like flagged for PvP. It would make no sense if only a guard could engage a criminal or vise versa. The fair thing would be that both guards and criminals can attack each other on sight.

If ZeniMax will shove PvP up my throat, i will cancel my sub. I do not like PvP, I do not want PvP - and since I'm paying for the game, i DO want to have an option.
Active world PvP is not a bad thing, but in all my experience - especially in EVE - active world PvP turns to mindless ganking sooner than later.
So... have you PvP fun, I'm all for it - but if PvP is going to be done at the expense of PvE players - then... well, look above.

None is forcing you to PvP. If you commit a crime and do not pay your bounty, other players can kill you.
If you don't like PvP, stay legal and don't become a guard. Simple as that.

You can't be serious ? As much as I love EVE, and have been playing it for 5 years - EVE is one BIG ganking fest... PvE or crafters/gatherers can NOT exist equally, especially miners that are always getting shot down for pvpers amusement with no way of defending themselves.

OH PLEASE.
Give it a break. Shock horror, if you don't want to suffer the punishment, don't kill or steal from people.
Problem solved.
This is CLEARLY being placed ready for the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.indytims_ESO wrote: »Personally, they should leave PVP in Cyrodil - the way it was designed to be. Guys I know this is asking a lot of the internet, but do you think that maybe JUST one of you could maybe read up or watch the videos before commenting?
Thanks.
What an obnoxious troll thread. You come into a PvE forum to boast about the games potential demise by becoming Eve in Tamriel. The PvP forum wasn't good enough for you? This thread is full of EXACTLY why I and many, many others will unsub. It shows the true nature of the PvP player. Quite frankly I just do not like people like you. I will not associate with you in RL and I certainly will not do so here either.
ZOS could have had a gold mine with a subscription based solo online game with grouping and segregated PvP. If it goes to being some Eve/WS/WoW/Etc mess you can bet that a large part of the base will exit. If the poll in the General Discussion is remotely accurate then 60% or more will take a hike. You can enjoy your gankfest while the game lasts without us.

I don't understand why ppl are so against pvp. It adds realism to games, depth to player interaction, and a whole other dimension of excitement. Plus, if you get killed, relax! It's a game and if you die there's barely any consequence. I love open world pvp. I never "gank" ppl but love the excitement that comes with not knowing when you might be attacked.
I don't mean to sound like one of those people who say, "if you don't like it play a single player game." But online socializing really should be more interactive.
