Guy comes here to vent a legit issue and look at the LOLs on his post. Pathetic. All that is left playing this game are the *** fanbois.
Crash, crash, lag, crash, log back in, dead. crash, rolled back to main camp, crash, lag, crash and crash.

That there is your problem. Stop trying to be special, as you will already know NOTHING works on a MAC. It's not supported by anyone so stop trying to be a hipster and join the 21st century and get a PC.
PC = Personal Computer, usable for anything.
MAC = Word processor, erm....you can type stuff on it but that's about it.

Macs are for video editing and graphic designers. Macs were never meant to be gaming powerhouses, which they aren't.

Been playing ESO for 3 months now on a 700 euro PC and not a single crash.
PVE boring?? I bet you rushed to VR12 and missed the beautiful storyline and quests and locations. Typical...
Quite simple this game is not for you. Move on. Bye.
@Vatter how much RAM do you have on your Mac? There is still a small memory leak when playing the game on Mac and I have been crashing before due to insufficient RAM. My mac runs on 16Gb RAM and I haven't crashed that often since they patched it (I still crash every so often after 4-5h but it is not frequent anymore).
You can play this game perfectly fine on a Mac there are still some additional bugs (like spider boss in Crypts of Heart veteran... worse than in windows) but overall it is a very smooth and nice experience.
(I can already predict several lols for this comment due to the reason that I am on a Mac, guess what I did not buy a Mac to game it just ended up being used to play this game as well)

Remember that Macs are not designed to play video games. Neither are PCs - strictly speaking, but lets agree that video games are PC's realm, are dominated by PC enthusiasts and elitist. Whenever you mention a Mac on ANY video game forum ( maybe except EVE as I believe this one is almost as popular on Mac as it is on PC, if not more ) expect those people to immediately spit acid at you... and let them, meanwhile enjoy your fast, stable and buttery smooth OS

Is there any reason for a mac besides it's look and..well it's look?

The reason is because nobody wants to program that for a minority. If 5% of the world had windows and 95% had a MAC, then it would be the other way around.
