How should vampirism and lycanthropy be treated by guard and vendors in town? Should there be a stigma attached?
Edited by Azzuria on July 23, 2014 12:35AM
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

No change ofc , "monsters are PvE players also" would be more accurate actually.

They might not want to take part on this mini PvP game zen is creating in the PvE zone.

It should be like Skyrim where transforming in public was a no no. It would be much more realistic!

I don't agree with insta-kill for all stages of vampirism, but I wouldn't mind it for transformed werewolves or stage 4 vampires. Definitely some other consequences for stage 1-3 (maybe bad prices at regular vendors?).

But that said, I doubt this would be implemented.

Make it like previous TES games. If a WW transforms in town, they get splatted. If a Vamp is in stage 3 or 4, blammo. Otherwise they should be able to move freely.

Instakill just seems like "Hit this if you want to troll" button.
If you do that vamp/ww should just be removed completely.

But yes, like previous TES games as the last guy said.

And if stage 3/4 vamps become hostile in cities, Id like to be able to feed on friendly npc's in a back alleyway so I don't become hostile.

There should be a way to knock them out and feed on them without alerting other people/guards, could be a mini game essentially, for vamps.

There should be more consequences for openly using your powers in town near NPC's who notice.

Yes, this. Maybe just stage 4 for vampires, though. Give them a little leeway.

This is only true if you decide which lore counts.

Cause skyrim also added to the lore that vampires could be perfectly fine even on stage 4, 0 NPCs after them.

So in the end , it falls to zen to decide which kind of vampire they want , cause lore wise , vampires dont need to be hunted at all.

The lore didn't change. The people of Skyrim had different politics than Cyrodil 200 years later. Still, no one would talk to a stage 4 vampire in Skyrim, so they were never accepted. The lore said that each stage of vampirism made it more obvious of what you are, and that's why the people would change. Early stages were suspicious, but the people weren't sure you were a vampire. Also, in Oblivion, if you didn't feed as a vampire you would take damage in daylight. I always thought that was an awesome penalty because it really made you feel like a vampire.

Mate , i played skyrim and i can assure you , you could be a stage 4 vampire and everyone would talk you just the same.

The only issue that one could bring up is the whole vampire lord issue , which was the kind of vampire in skyrim , but the way you become a vampire in ESO could also end up the same result.

The lore changed after Dawnguard in Skyrim. Before Dawnguard, you would be KoS at level 4. Post-Dawnguard, you could be level 4 and be fine. Just don't transform into a vampire lord. Otherwise, as someone else said, blammo!

So pretty much the same rules the WW get? I could live with that.

Now being hunt because you dont feed is annoying , it was also before in the games before , but i felt it was an improvement they did in skyrim heh.

Make feeding phases last longer (12 hours real time a stage or something) and I'll be all for the hostile guards in cities, otherwise leave it as it is.. there's not a whole lot of incentive to go vampire these days post nerf and having to feed constantly to do quests / craft / bank is.. simply annoying.

I think Vampire's should get given the choice to live in peace..
(Be threatened because of their appearance etc, because people are worried..)

maybe the same idea with Werewolves, if in Werewolf form, be targeted asap, if not, how are they supposed to notice??

I was referring to vanilla Skyrim. I guess the DLC's changed the rules.

insta kill would mean vamps and warewolves couldnt complete 90% of the quests in the game.

Don't know, but it would make sense for the guards to chase out vampires out of the city... because, well, you know... vampires kill people ( lore-wise ) so it would make sense.

Werewolves ? Maybe a different matter. If you're not in WW form, they don't necessarily need to know what you are, but as soon as you changed, same thing.

Don't really have any ideas to offer on how to solve that though...

If you use an obvious 'monster' power in sight of normal people or guards then, like previous TES games, you should be flagged as criminal/monster and attacked, otherwise no.
