I play this game on a laptop and it runs fine, but (I read the min requirements don't worry trolls) I am installing it on my mac mini.

Who has dared to play the mac client let alone on a mac mini? Is it as bad as I think its going to be?

I played on a Macbook Pro 2010 model. It ran on fairly well on medium but the laptop overheats badly, That's just because it has no real exhaust. It overheats while streaming movies from Netflix some time.

This is why I purchased mine, that and I am a software developer and I legit find them the bast platform to develop on.

I completely expect it to be [snip]. I do. I just want to see if it will even run (even though the specs say it will ... )

well built... lol You mean expensively built, impossible to upgrade at a reasonable cost, incompatible with almost everything. I don't know what you mean by better uses for work, windows is far better for most jobs, its far more versatile.

Mac exists for hipsters to pay out the nose and feel special about it.

I'm playing on an iMac with a graphics card that is a tad below minimum reqs. Nevertheless, I have no complaints about heat or lag or anything. I can't set the graphics to blow-your-mind gorgeous but I'm good until the console drops. There, now y'all have two reasons to hate on me. I'm a Mac and a console gamer; big screen TV, comfortable chair and no mods.

I'm lighting the torches and gathering the pitchforks right now.

To the OP, I normally play on PC but I have played on a friend's iMac a few times and it ran fine and I haven't seen any issues with the Mac launcher. As for the mini I haven't tried that. I know the hardware isn't top notch in there for graphics but if you're okay with playing on low or maybe medium settings it should run assuming you're using a newer model of the mini. Can't give any more detail though since I haven't tried. I can say that the Mac client works perfectly fine though.

For the Macs, it's all in the graphics card. I've played on two generations of iMacs. On the latest model, with the GeForce 780m, I can run everything set to max, full resolution, and get 40+ fps.

I also played on on older, 2009 model with an ATI Radeon 5xxx or 6xxx model. The game struggled to break 20 fps and I found myself lowering the graphics settings to compensate.

Both models had quad core i7 with tons of mem. Neither were ever challenged CPU-wise, or memory-wise.

The client consistently crashes when things just start to get interesting in PvP, but never in PvE. It's a pain, but not that big of one.

Curious, do y'all have a longer than average load time? My wife has a PC that she uses and I have my iMac (that meets the specs) and it takes forever for me to log into the game or load from one area to the next. I'm dreaming of getting the Mac Pro but wonder if it's just something that's native to the client or just my computer.

All this Mac and PC fanboy nonsense is idiotic. While I gravitate more towards a PC due to games being more readily available I have no issue with a Mac. Saying a Mac is for a hipster is like saying a PC is for a a no life gamer who lives in his mother's basement.

I currently use a Mac but plan on getting a PC relatively soon (oh my god what?), purely because I need a new computer and I want to play other PC specific games in the near future.

In terms of the Mac mini, I have one but I haven't actually bothered, my current Mac can handle the game relatively fine, random crashes aside.

    Greetings folks,

For what it's worth, we heard that some people are running ESO on the old Mac-book AIR, and the game is running smoothly in medium/low graphics settings

However, we do not recommend doing so as it will most likely cause overheating issues on your machine, and can potentially damage it.

On 2012 Mac Mini with Intel HD4000 the game runs "fine" on medium details under bootcamp. Under OS X it's only playable on low with high textures. Still not a terrible deal though as Minis are definitely not meant for gaming.

Why whould you even try to run it on a Mac? Just let that system die out in peace.
It's like owning a sportscar and a stationwagon.......and using the stationwagon.
The stationwagon works yes, but its slow clunky and nothing works right for it.

Why do people always need to post some scornful comments about Macs ?

Because, my friend, this is the internet where most people generally have no idea what they're talking about and yet still feel entitled to voice their oh-so-humble opinion.

I, too, run ESO on the iMac I purchased in June 2013. Its specs are:

    1. 3.4GHz Intel Core i7
    2. 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    3. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
    4. OS X 10.9.4

Most of the settings are at maximum and, aside from the occasional pop-in issues and occasional crashes, I've had no problems whatsoever with ESO on my iMac.

They may have better coding system and stuff but they arn't supported by anyone and should just admit defeat and stop wasting peoples time.

How is it off topic, the OP is on about trying to play on a MAC, I gave another example why not to bother trying.

This is the question the OP is asking, not whether Macs are a worthless system and should be removed from existence. So yes, I'm not trolling, just pointing out that your opinion isn't wanted or needed in this specific circumstance as it's simply baiting the Mac fans into flaming and all that jazz. So please, stop.

    Pot meet Kettle.

Coming to a Mac thread where the topic is 'has anyone tried running ESO on a Mac mini, if so, how was it?' and saying 'AH MAH GAWD MACS SUKK' is an unwanted opinion, no?

If pointing out that your Mac hate is unwarranted in this specific situation is trolling.. I have news for you.

Regardless, I'll stop, talking to a wall is never any fun.
