The justice system (working hard for our money or hardly working?)

So can someone explain to me the justice system for a massive selling point and the reason I need to log back in everyday except to collect mail and click anything that's not being researched?

The reason I ask, I see it like this,

You do a bad thing, you are then wanted, and others can kill you, now for the /drum roll.

Doing a bad thing???

What is the point?

What is the end reward in doing something bad?

Do you get gold? (Sorry have plenty of that)
Do you get uber leet unique gear? (I would be amazed if its unique, heck if it was leet)
Do you get epeen? (Lol if you want that, then you are playing the wrong game imo)

What is the purpose of this justice system?

I have read about consequences but just one thing please someone.

What's the point of doing something bad /breaking the law in the first place?

Risk vs reward

I see the effect, I just don't see the cause!!

I assume it's so that you can bait people into attacking you so that you can lol pwn them. Bait and switch bro.

The game really needs some form of win/loss when you win/lose in PVP. Ever hear of risk vs reward? People who like PVP do so because they like the gamble, an "annie up" of some limited sort (I'd like full loot but of course that won't happen) would be more attractive than discouraging.

Wildstar's allure is exactly that. I'd probably play it just for that, but the lore and art direction isn't to my liking.

Sorry, so let me get this straight, the time spent on this and the massive hype is for " FLUFF?"

A Taunton/ cough sorry a rideable dragon would have done and needed less time invested in it from devs...

When so many other things I was promised as to the reason why I should pay for this game have yet to be delivered or even mentioned (seriously)since they got my money to purchase the game and my monthly sub!

Its so you can pickpocket from one person to another person....then get that other person arrested for theft with the stolen goods in their pocket ;)

The justice system is another step towards the TG and DB, and adds world PvP if you are interested. If you're not interested in those, then the justice system offers you nothing. Can't please everybody.

It's purely for entertainment, don't think it gets any simpler than that. If you don't like it that's too bad, I know a lot of people who are looking forward to this.

Also we're all in the same position here, we all have to wait for the new content which will be delivered according to their planned schedule.

Just pure speculation on my part...

But I'd be willing to bet that some of the more desirable acquisitions (ie... motifs, recipes, etc..) will have a higher drop rate, but grabbing them will pose a risk. See a motif or recipe you want? But there's a guard standing right on top of it so there's very little chance of you looting it without getting caught? I'd find that pretty cool.

I'm not really into the Justice system, but I did thoroughly watch the ESO quakecon stream and this is what I got out of it. Looting containers that are "owned" by another player character (NPC/PC) will now be considered theft. So for instance the million people running in Reapers March (last VR zone in your faction, I'm EP) looting the Inn (dressers, chests, bags, boxes, desks) for motifs / crafting ingredients, this would now be theft.

I'm not sure what the master list on items is, where they exist etc... but I do know SOME items are easily found in locations that would be now considered stealing. People will either take the risk to continue looting these locations or find new spots.

Also if you review the provisioning changes that are being considered it definitely seems like most provisioning items would be found through stealing, but since I'm not into provisioning maybe someone else can provide further thought on the matter.

My guess is that the justice system is a prelude to the Dark Brotherhood.

I'm thinking the crimes that can be committed will be directly tied to the skill line advancement for Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood.

I'm not expecting much from it personally. I don't imagine 'being bad' is going to be very rewarding. It definitely won't work like previous TES games, but we'll just have to wait until ZoS release more detailed info.

Whoa, whoa, wait--we want to encourage murder? I thought it was supposed to be a bad thing. You know it being a high felony and all....why would commoners have good gear anyway?

At least theft adds some gold onto 0g items....now its worth 1g. Oh well, better than nothing.

Honestly though, I like the system, its better than a system where everyone want to go on a murder spree (though I expect this anyway).

of course we want to encourage murder, this is not RL. Murder is fun, being the bad guy is fun, defending the innocent FROM the bad guy is fun.
