Does anyone else agree with me when I say that the amount of range melee enemies have is ridiculous?I mean this is outrageous!Melee attackers should only be able to hit a player when they are up close!
That's true, but it's not only the enemies, also the players themselves, as far as I've noticed. A blade's range is much farther or longer than the blade actually is, I don't know why.
Probably to account for lag. In TES SPG games, the Reach of a blade can be specified to just about any length. One time for grins in Morrowind I made one that would hit an enemy from across the room with a Dagger. If the blade was more set to the in game length, it might be frustrating to get close enough to actually hit something then block or roll dodge out of the way of the enemy hit.
Also, if you were to stand as close as an actual length blade would need, it would be nothing but clipping in the fights. As long as the reach is reasonable, and everyone has the same, its OK for me.
Now, I don't see myself being able to stand far away from an enemy, just a bit farther away than the blade plus arm length would account for.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

NPC attacks have 1 range check. (they cheat)
Players attacks have 2 range checks
If a NPC starts an attack, there is a range check when the skill is triggered, but if you then run out of range..... it does not matter, as it will hit you.
But players have two range checks, one at starting a skill and one when the skill goes off. If the target is out of range when the skill 'fires' it will do nothing.
