So when are the promised nightblade changes actually coming in?

I just changed back to a stamina build because night stick is boring as all hell. I remember now why I changed, there is a passive in the assassination line that makes you recover magicka when killing someone with an assassination ability, considering that there is only one ability (ultimate is generally when they are high health in my experience) that this really affects why not just put it on that ability..... Haste isn't even a noticeable change, it should be as much of a dps increase as crit surge is on sorcs (crit surge has heals as well...), summon shade, blur, and agony or whatever the siphoning skill is are all completely useless as well...

I do agree the shadow ult needs nerfs but that shouldn't mean the rest of the class doesn't get attention, I was pulling 1k dps single target with ult and pots on my night stick dot build but now with a bow and dual wield im pulling around 400-500 and thats with overcharged stamina, 40% weapon crit +pots and all jewelry into weapon damage.....

Can we please get an ETA on any changes because it was said when 1.2 came out that they would be fixed with small patches over multiple patches, well that patch had a nerf and only two buffs that mildly affected stamina builds (increased stamina regen and spell damage on sneak)...

    Great, those were the content changes like dark brotherhood and imperial city but I'm talking about balance that was meant to be patch 1.2 not 1.4+...

    Yea, nightblades still really need a revamp. Haste and mark target need to be reworked, blur is bad all around, aspect of terror is a terrible AoE CC ability, summon shades is absolute crap, agony shouldnt have a cast time, and invisibility is still loaded with bugs.

    Nightblade changes will come with the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood.

    It will make for easy marketing to have the "rogue" class become flavour of the month when they want to advertise the Justice system.

    Nightblade's are solid and powerful, it's stamina abilities which need to be buffed to make the nightblade more powerful.

    They are strong with Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V builds, I was running one until recently, there really aren't that many viable options, useless skills is the biggest reason for this, there should never be a skill you cannot use on any build... Name one from another class that is completely useless ie will never use ever

    I am medium armor and DW, Anyone i open on with ambush or Suprise will die to me, i rarely lose to anyone 1v1 unless they get the jump on me.

    With bow and Snipe I can 3 shot people all day long, sometimes 2 shots with crit.

    I really dont know what more you want from NBs they are alot ready really strong if play them correctly and gear your self correctly with + magic and armor resists on your jewelry. I can go into a cluster f--- and kill a ton of people with burst damage and still get out of it alive.

    This, though I am not as successful at pvp, it's more because I just don't know what to do with myself when I engage a target half the time.

    You don't have to do staff and skirt to play.

    It's not a matter of having access to effective builds, and as most have said the real issue lies in how weak stamina-based weapon sets are compared to the staffs. Two handed, in particular, is a completely FUBAR weapon tree right now - it's got the most easily interrupted single target attack of the lot, weak (and heavily directional) aoe damage, a sub-par execute, and a buff that doesnt even work. The passives are jacked as well.

    Most nightblade builds that do well dont rely on weapon skills (snipe aside) - they're not even weapon focused.


    That said, my real issue with nightblades right now (aside from 2h sucking) is that there are a lot of useless abilities that could really be made better with even a few brain cells from the dev team. Blur, Haste, Mark Target, Path of Shadows, Aspect of Terror, Summon Shades, Agony - all poor abilities that really need to be made more effective in order to diversify nightblade builds.

    I get roflstomped by NBs coming out of stealth in cyrodiil the way it is. I dont know how much more "buffing" is required. Especially with the stamina buffs coming already.
    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    Maybe if people started playing the classes as intended, no one would be *** moaning.

    Yeah I agree with other posters that nightblades are easily good enough now, but fixing stuff that is broke would give more options and make interest in the game last longer.

    Great, people always assume balance is only about pvp, I know nightblades can come out of sneak and destroy someone in pvp, can you come out of sneak and three shot a trials boss? No..... can you even keep up on dps with a decent sorc? No....

    When you say play the class as intended, you mean play as if there was a 'right' build for the class? Well that is way against the play how you want now isn't it....

    Pretty much covered it. Plus some skills are just plain worthless compared to others.

    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Agree with the op still needs work on some skills. But would ask how exactly he was getting 1000 dps with nightstick mine doesn't get over 800.
    The same goes for the pvp'er what armour are you using and which skills because I can't seem to burst a DK down that fast even with ambush criting.

    1000 dps comes from 56% crit base, shadow stone, overcharged mana, close to overcharged stamina (for auto attacks) and spell crit/spell power pots. You make sure you keep the dot up, the ult up and spam the hell out of strife and you will hit 1k no problem, executing for 1k a hit also helps with this a lot.

    As for the DK burst, people argue that it is balanced because a couple of times they caught a DK out on his horse while he was running around or even afk and got a free full charged heavy sneak, snipe or wrecking blow and wrecked his face. That's not balanced, that is situations demanding that you win.

    where you teleport across and backstab them?
