shadow cloak duration?

any NB out there that can confirm how long last shadow cloak rank IV?
before skill reset i believe my shadow cloak(morphed to dark cloak) was 4.2 sec duration, now it's only 2.9 sec at max rank.

I don't believe that ranking up the morphs of Shadow Cloak has ever affected the duration of the ability. It's always been 2.5 seconds (unmodified by passives), but the secondary effect will receive buffs with each rank.

You're probably missing the final passive in the shadow tree, which increases the duration of shadow abilities by 10/20%.

it definitely was 4.2 seconds before skill reset, and i have all passives also for it, so no problem there. at rank I it should be 2.5 sec, thats ~2.9 sec with passives up

It was always 2.9 sec (with the shadow passive). You are probably confusing it with the duration of the veiled strike stun from stealth, that one is in the ~4s range.

No, I had mine at 4.2 seconds before as well. I'll check when I log in, I havent used shadow cloak in a while, but I know it used to have that duration. Could've been stealth nerfed maybe.

i did reskill about 3 months ago, might be my memory(doubt it).
anyhow here's a question: what does shadow rank I through IV change? it was duration increase with each rank about 0.3-0.4 sec each rank

Never had more then 2.9 seconds with passive buffs. I only play a nightblade.

    Same here.
Never had more than 2.9 seconds, never heard of anyone having more than 2.9 seconds.

It's never been higher than 2.9 seconds. I remember specifically because I was always looking for a way to get it higher. If NB's had a 4.2sec cloak, I'd probably wet my pants.

I remember it because I found it rather strange that a maxed out Class skill gives a shorter invisibility duration than a level 10 crafted Alchemy potion.
At least Cloak can be chain cast.

Yup. I never bothered with the potions anyway though. Two or three casts of Shadow Cloak is exponentially better than 1 potion and an obnoxiously long cooldown.

Alchemy was the first crafting I maxed to 50. Potions have great benefits for Nightblade, since even one of our passives benefit them.

Mix Blue Entoloma + Namira's Rot + Blessed Thistle
get a potion that gives 3 seconds invisibility and 39% move speed for 10 seconds
use that first, then chain Cloak afterward
    high speed invisible escape

Potion mix has the same effect whether mixed with a level 10 water or a v5 water, so it works even at low Alchemy spec.

Yeah I could see the advantage in that. Unfortunately, I find the potion mechanics (more specifically the quickslot system) horrible. I keep stamina pots as default, healing one slot left, and power/crit pots one slot right. That's about the max that I can keep track of by relying on the sounds to keep track of where they are. I just hate taking my eyes off the action to look at the whole Quickslot Wheel.

But I digress, since I'm going off topic.

to hotkey my potions to F1-F6
then have macros on my Naga set to F1+Q, F2+Q and so forth.

Great for streamlining, before we pop back on topic ;)

Shadow cloak has been 2.5 seconds base from pre-play. 2.9 seconds with max passives. Wish it was 4 or more seconds, but it has never been.

Sad that potions are a better cloak than out class one.
