Fishing?

Is fishing still broken? ive wasted well over 100 worms fishing in "ocean" spots and not 1 single "rare" fish.. do you HAVE? to fish with others? can you get achievements?

Starter Islands still have not earnable achievements.

You can get achievements from other zones. If you're using autoloot you won't see when you catch a fish but you will receive the credit for it.

In regards to your second question. You don't need to fish with others to catch rare fish, I have done all of mine solo and earned what achievements I can.

To add to what Turelus stated, it is possible to catch (it won't loot into your inventory) the rare fish for the starter islands, but even if you do, you will not get credit for the achievement.

You don't have to fish with others, I've also caught a lot of rare fish flying solo. Fishing with people is suppose to give you a higher chance to catch the rares, and it does seem to, but the fishing holes exhaust very, very quickly.

Achievements outside of the starter islands do appear to work. I know some of the fish I caught in prior patches were in the wrong zones. Like, the achievement that had that fish was listed for the next zone over. Still gave me credit and all, and I can't remember which fish it happened to off the top of my head.
