Can we PLEASE do something about the mobile forums?

I don't know how many people use them, but I personally would like to read some things on here while I'm on the go. As it is, however, the most I can do is post this. I can't even access the forum categories. So please, can we improve the mobile forums just a little?
Yeah, I know a lot of people are going to say, "Forget the forums, fix the game!" but this is something much easier to do and probably wouldn't take long to do. So do it!

EDIT: Apparently this issue is device-based, so I'll say that I was using my iPhone when I wrote this. This is what the mobile site looks like for me:

The game is fine and getting better all the time. A HUGE yes to getting mobile forums working. I travel a lot and cant keep up with all the new stuff.

Yes please fix mobile forums if you have available resources. On my iPhone I currently can not:
1. Navigate between forum categories. My biggest frustration!
2. Flag posts from trolls. And there are plenty of trolls. But the button just doesn't show up.
3. Type very well. But that one is my problem to fix not yours.

Yes, this is my biggest issue with the mobile site on iOS. I usually just click "Best of" and hope the results are in the category I want to browse (typically 'General Discussion - English"). This is typically OK but if I want to browse another category, it's a pain.

If that can't be updated, at least allowing the device to view the 'Full Site' option would be great; right now, it defaults to mobile no matter what.

I would really like a dedicated Mobile App...one where we can access all the forums, as well as see our character info, inventory, read lore books, view the world map, talk in guild chat, etc.

I really don't understand what your talking about here. Apparently there is an issue with some mobile devices however.

I simply go to the forums and the behavior is exactly the same as my PC on both my android phone and iPad. Strange others have issues. Is it country specific? US here.

Maybe it's just a problem for us iphone users, I don't know. I can't access the forums either on my phone, just gives choice of best of or full site. Full site doesn't do anything.

On mobile are you using the native mobile version or the "web version". The native mobile version is fairly annoying to use but you can also click web version to make it display the same way it would on your computer's internet browser. Sure you have to spend time zooming in and out depending on your screen size but at least everything is formatted correctly. You even get pop up notifications. It's actually programmed exceptionally well.

Also, might help to let everyone know what device you're using. I've used an iPhone and an iPad on web version to use the forums without a problem.

On my iPhone I can click full site all I like but it makes no difference, I just get the mobile version with half the features and the Vanilla forums logo at bottom.

I'm so happy for all the people on other devices who don't have this problem, but that doesn't make it a non-issue for the rest of us.

Edit: But the larger point is, even if I could find a workaround on my iPhone to get the true full site, which is what I think the others are referencing, and which I can get on my android tablet, the mobile version that I have access to on my iPhone is pretty pitiful and needs a makeover.

Yea that's horrible. They must have hard coded in a few devices that redirect to mobile automatically. This is bad development if you ask me. They should always ask if you want the mobile site. In fact redirecting to a mobile site is past it's usability with modern devices if you ask me.

Using Android on a Galaxy S3 -

I can set it to Desktop Mode to view the other categories, but it's a really crappy work around since I have to switch it back to mobile view if I don't want to be zooming in and out.

I have this view too, though the "full site" link works for me. Then I am in pinch/zoom/scan around mode though, which is not that great an experience. Why have a "mobile" version that is not usable on mobile?

No issues on the mobile site here. Used both, but the mobile is better as pinch zooming sucks on the full site viewing on iphone 5.

What happens when you click the full site when viewing mobile?

On an iPhone 5 using Safari, the link for Full Site does not work. It just goes back to the mobile site home page as shown above (blank page with the announcement).
The categories menu does not appear at all.
The link for Home goes back to the non-functional home page.
Sign in works unreliably.
The link for Best Of works correctly.

I have had issues with the mobile site. And i play another game (dont shoot me) that also uses the same Vanilla forums and they have problems with it as well.

What i do and would suggest is see that button at the bottom right above Vanilla Forums, that says Full Site. Click that and use the full forum. More resizing needed but i have had no problems using the full site.

If you mentioned this somewhere sorry for the repeat.

I agree it's a mess. It's clearly an automated 'conversion' tool, there's been no attention paid to it or customisation afforded it whatsoever.

iPhone here and I get the same garbage. I always click "full site" even though it still causes problems it's way better than the mobile version. I tried to post something from the mobile version once and it showed up as a bunch of coded garbly ***.

I'm on iPhone 5 and it works. When you click full site it does indeed just bring you back to the same page. However, once you then log-in you will be brought to the full site/web version. It looks and acts exactly the same as a browser on a PC or MAC would, and you can pinch to zoom.

I'm on an iPhone 5c and this works and it also works on my iPad Air. I asked about devices earlier because I wasn't sure what everyone was using but if you are on iOS you shouldn't have a problem.

Some people can get the full website on their mobile devices. That's fine and good. I'm glad to know there are workarounds like downloading chrome instead of using safari on iOS.

This doesn't change the fact that the mobile version of the site, which the OP posted a screenshot of, is woefully insufficient. Those of us who can't access or don't wish to scroll around the full site on a tiny screen are asking for a better mobile version of the forums.

Using icons only would be a solution, e.g. the forum icons since we mostly know what they stand for. Then you could display most, if not all, categories. Though there also needs to be a way to select language so it would not display all languages, this is to limit the clutter.
