i'd hit every idiotic lame waste of pixels vanity pet with a fireball if i could. utter pointless nonsense. the hero that saves the world but gets upset if his pet slug/dog/monkey isn't by his side ... just [snip], i got 2 when i started the game. the monkey and something else. i never even took them out the bag. just deleted them immediately and got on with playing the game.

Here is an example I noticed earlier today.
Around say 7 PM EST, people usually PvP, maybe a bit later but PvP is usually active at night most days. Now, before all of this, only Wabbajack was really used for big PvP nonsense and what nots. Now, looking at the PvP campaign options, both Wabbajack and Dawnbreaker are filled, and Wabbajack has a queue of 60.
There are a lot of people coming to ESO from steam right now I believe, so ESO is becoming more active and less ghost town like, which is fantastic. What this means is, there will be more people to battle in Cyrodiil, more people to talk to and socialize with, more people to group with for objectives, and more people to do generally everything an MMO is based on with.
The Whiterun Wolfhound was only put in place I think to sweeten the deal and bring more people in to increase the game population so its better for everyone.

isn't everything about video games pointless nonsense? Every pixel is pointless because video games are... pointless.
I take that back there is a point - fun. If people find there fun with vanity pets then it is accomplishing the goal.
I don't personally understand it but its safe to assume if so many people are taking the time to comment on the subject it is a fun aspect of the game for them.
It's a shame that at the first QuakeCon since ESO was released you chose to announce that you were selling the game on Steam, at a discount no less, with the only new pet to come available since launch unavailable to the people who have supported you since the beginning. As a long time supporter (beta tester since last September) I feel anything that you offer only to new subscribers is a slap in the face to those of us who have backed this game since the beginning. QuakeCon could have been the predecessor to a ScrollCon type event or even brought more people to QC if you had handled it correctly. Instead you dealt your subscribers a healthy dose of disappointment on opening night in the hopes of increasing your subscriber numbers. As a community this feels bad and you at the company should feel bad.
