Would you like to have something like Jobs in game

Are you planning to add Bounty Board for hunting players? It can be on that board top 10 bounty players. Also in bounty player description can add like what this player responsible for killed plenty people, stolen artefact or killed some famous person (like King) and so on.

Also suggest to make a jobs like To became imperial guard, Tamriel trader, or Thief, Messanger, Assasin, king. All these jobs have connections to each other.

Lets start from trader: Trader buy good in on city and it have to bring to another city by walk, by horse (horse with goods moves slowly but you can add a more goods) or by ship (So you can add some port to make a shorter route). More far is city more reward you get. Also some cities have some demands that they need. Also traders will have some rank starting from apprenticeship to Royal Merchant. With better rank you can get better goods.

Now about guards: Guards can protect Traders. So traders can hire Guard by paying a fee. Also guard can protect messengers and lead them to another place. Also a guard can detect bounty hunters in distance: thieves and assassins. Also guards can spot crime easier than simple player. Guards on minimap will see crime spot recently reported. Like each job, same as guard have ranks. Lets say with Guard Assistant you just can spot from distance Thieves and Assassins with small bounties. Better rank you have more dangerous bounties you can spot.

Thief. They can steal goods from traders and sell to Black Market which is appears randomly on map. They can read Treasure Board in thief guild and get information about where to get artefacts. Artefact are always guarded buy guards and monsters. Is many ways how to get artefact. Like one way you can sneak and steal without alarm. This type of styling will give you maximum reward. If some spot you stealing and you manage to escape from place when you will appear on bounty hunter board. If you stole and killed so bounty reward will increase for killing and stealing. To steal in not will be easy because you have to be smart and study that place how to sneak without notice.

Messenger. They have to bring very important information to some places. Messenger will get big reward as trader but job is dangerous. Messenger also can hire guards to help them to deliver information. Better messenger rank better reward he will and more dangerous.

Assassin. They have to kill very important persons. Messengers and kings. Better assassin rank more hard task he can take and also reward is better. Assassin have to kill target without killing other. If you kill innocent target so you will appear on Bounty hunter. Is some option for killing target: it can be like poison food (you have to learn Provision or Alchemy to find out how to make poison), wait for right time when target is alone. Second part of Assassin is to clear evidence. If you don't manage to clear evidence so you will appear on Bounty Hunter board.

I forgot to tell about king. Well only can be one in city. I think is more like if a king can be in PvP zones. So king is control land (taxes, guards and so on). So king it have to hire trusted best guards to protect him. Because everyone wants to be in king place. It king dies so it lose king position in city. King can go alone in non-pvp zones, but in PvP zones is very dangerous.

Top 5 player of month will have monument with player appearance and name. Guard, Traders, kings and messenger will have statute in cities, some field and dungeons. Thief and Assassin will have statue in guild and dungeons and fields.

It was just some examples. Also I would like to hear more suggestion for each job or some new job, also opinion about jobs. I think what every one can find particular role in this game. It can be hard work to do this, but maybe in future will be possible to do.

Thank you for reading this post.

That probably does not align well with what they already have in the pipeline for justice system, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild. You are trying to reinvent what is not in the game yet but I think what is well shaped already and on it's way into the game.

They have to test justice system first for few months to see patterns, exploits and make it solid before they will introduce DB and TG, that's what I think. I would not be surprised if DB and TG will be out somwhere in expansion 5-8 about end of 2015.

Also, job sounds bad, I already have one, not looking forward to another thing I HAVE to do.

Who force you to do? ;-) You can play as usually you play, but when you get bored with same contest so what you will do? These jobs a more for variety. Lets say you don't like to battle, but maybe you lake trading. So you do trading job. Other people maybe wants do Assassin jobs instead a massive PvP battles. I would like to have thief jobs where is my favourite gameplay style. Also I would like to have as Guard jobs to look for to kill NPC or player. In other way its like side missions. ;-)

Also I think that this jobs brings more life to game. Can you imagine when you doing quest and see like trader is going with caravans guarded by guards. Later on you see what some group of thieves attacked trader to take good from him. So game will be more dynamic with events made by players ;-). Just probably you need to have bigger maps than usual ;-)

The idea could be interesting , but just like the justice system , it is a minigame and many may just dont want to play it , which is fine , you never said we are made to do it , the point is , is it worth the huge amount of dev time to create it?

Dunno , guess that is up to the devs to decide.

Well yes, Ultima had jobs even though you could just call it "crafter & salesman" there ;)

It depends on the execution though, its a social feature and those will always attract a quite large group in MMOs - probably bigger than the raiders group.

If you look at it, at WOW you have a farm system where you can be a farmer. Yes its very simple and not with much depth, but raising your own plants is quite fun :D

At ESO becoming a farmer, a fletcher, a horse breeder, a fisherman etc. could indeed be fun.

I would however leave everything out that is based on leaderboards etc. This is never good in an MMO.
Make it voluntary, with nice quests that let you gain social rewards like outfits, titles or in the long run a new home (once housing is implemented).

I thought I had a Job, or is saving the world just a hobby?

Then again, I could see it would end up like so many things... "Oh, you are a Nightblade, this position requires a Sorc or DK"

Well why be so negative about this idea? This is perfect for role players, it does not have to be crucial for the game but it could be a good source of income and experience for player.

I don't play this (or any other) game to "have a job". Not saying it should or shouldn't be available to those who want to have one. Too restrictive imo and there is enough of that in game already. I'm more of a free trade, vagabond type anyway (homeless).

Originally there was a job system in Rift...in each zone there was (1) general who was responsible for the entire zone. There were (2) commanders who controlled about half of each zone. Each commander has (3) subcommanders, for a total of (6) subcommanders, who each got a specific zone to watch over. And last but not least, each subcommander had (2) sergeants, for a total of (12) sergeants. Each job paid a certain amount of money.

Sadly, that system collapsed 3 months after Rift went F2P. So it would be nice, especially to those who love roleplaying, but you gotta make sure you keep interest in it...so in the end, I leave the ultimate decision to almighty Zenimax.

here is choice for everyone. If some players like something to do different so they can because is another way how to get gold, reputation and items. Or maybe someone players want to be famous as Guardian and have his character as monument in city as hero, o maybe some one want to be famous thief (good (who helped to find and retrieve item) or bad (will be most wanted in lands or tamriel) who stealing). In this jobs system also can be PvP and PvE missions. Players don't have to do jobs, here is just additional activities if you bored to do same thing ;-)

Job in game and in reality is two deferent thing. You play game because you like, you chose game because you like, you do that type tasks in game because you like. When I say jobs so it doesn't mean that it have to named as jobs, you rename or find another meaning like tasks, side missions ;-).

All of these things are already possible. I am a trader in game, I make stuff and sell it. I will be an assassin and thief when the justice system comes out. There will also be guards then.

If I want to be emperor (king) I can earn it in cyrodiil (or join an unscrupulous guild)
