If I re-buy the imperial edition on steam, can I somehow just get the dog on my existing account?

Csub✭✭✭✭✭It is bound to the Steam account. I also agree that this is saddening, it's not only about the dog, it's also about the message it sends. Yes, giving rewards to new players to try and lure them to play is a good idead but those rewards shouldn't be exclusive to them especially so if the current, loyal playerbase has been here through all the ups and downs (mostly downs), asked for a pet like this and get nothing.
I won't quit over this but I won't be any happier either. Then again, if people still buy this game after the negativity, they deserve the reward but, as I said before, it shouldn't be exlusive when the current playerbase hasn't really received anything like that. (Anyone could get the monkey, some say they can even now if they find beta key and attach to their accounts and they can still find Explorer's Pack keys).

ebondeath✭✭✭✭✭There is no way to merge a new Steam account with an existing non-Steam account. The dog would be bound to the Steam account, forcing you to reroll everything and pay a second sub or drop your original account.

I never said it was the end of the world, and I'm well aware I would lose everything. Hence the "I don't want to start over" part of my rant. The fact is that I want THIS one, I like THIS one. I happen to think it is very cute. Is that a problem?

Not everybody has this ability, and even if I did I'd trade it for the dog.

I have a real dog, it's a "big deal" (which it isn't really) because I like this dog, and I would like to have it? It really isn't that big of a deal, I'm just spiteful and don't want to see other people having something I've wanted for a long time, which I'm not able to get? I believe it was a preorder bonus... If you pre ordered then you should have had the ability to play any race in any faction.1 -

I know it seems silly, but I feel the same way as the OP. And I wondered the same thing as the OP. I really, really want a dog in-game. I'm not going to threaten to quit over it, but yeah, it's a big deal. Maybe you have to be a dog lover to understand. It would add a whole new layer of enjoyment to my immersion if I could travel around with a dog at my side, because that's exactly what I would do if I really lived in the ESO world. In real life I spend a lot of time in the woods and mountains, and I always have my two large dogs with me.2 -

Yeah, my box is code cardless and I bought the game the first day it was available in stores. I feel mislead there, but whatever.
With or without faction locks, it's way too late for me to consider rerolling my game.

I'm not saying they'll sell for that price its just the list price but crap like that might be part of why ZoS didn't want it to be a separate code like the Imperial Edition bonuses were (which also was a profitable eBay venture).I don't always drink Skooma, but when I do I go to the Southwall Corner Club. Syndy✭✭✭I don't think most of these people are right. I have played 2 MMOs that were also on Steam, and both required me to have an account on their site...
For instance, I play Marvel Heroes, I have my steam account, I launch the game through steam, and it calls the MH launcher, then I log in with my MH account creditials, not my Steam Creditals...
Anything I buy in MH online store goes to my MH account, anything I buy from Steam for MH, I get a code that I then have to redeem on my MH account at their website.
Rift is the same way...
I am pretty sure that your Steam credentials are not what you are going to use to log into the game. You will have to create an account on ESO's website and choose a subscription model. Then log in the game with your ESO account credentials.
I have been wrong before though.
I feel fairly confident that when you buy the game on steam you will get a code, that you redeem on your account page on the ESO website...
