Toggle Off for Keen Eye

Hello!

I am a crafter and a roleplayer. I like to enjoy the environment in the game. And also, I like to gather my mats quickly.

I would like to invest skill points into Keep eye skill, however, I do not want to lose the immersion. Seriously, if the herb is glowing like a lighthouse, its nothing realistic about it.

Can you create a toggle for Keen Eye? I would like to turn it on when I am going to gather, and I would like to turn it off after I gather what I need to see the beautiful world without lighthouses.

At the moment, I am turning off the grass. If we can turn off the grass, why not the Keen Eye?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes one has to choose in life, and in game, you made your choice when you decided to put points into it you chose convenience over immersion .. sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Well I understand, however, you are putting apples and strawberies together here.

Immersion is a thing that should naturaly be present in the game - and even more in TES game. Its not a decision between A and B, with both options being somehow profitable.

There should not be decision between being immersed and being effective, in my humple opinion.

I don't see why it should not be possible to toggle off the bonus you get from the keen Eye skills. A bit trickier because it is a passive and someone will turn it off when he does not want too.

Might be best to use the build in feedback formular. Maybe make a poll on the general discussion forum.

LOL? Because turning off the grass isn't an immersion breaker?

Of course. At the usual respecing cost for your whole tree.
There is no way to just temporarily turn off the "Glow Markers" in the options.
As far as I can tell, addons would be unable to affect this.
Maybe a proper mod like SweetFX could affect this? Not sure it can do that without a restart of the client, however.

Too obvious. Several leagues to obvious. If that is your level of skill you are only boring everyone here.

I have one alt that had 2 Keen Eyes (Alchemy and Clothing) and running around the world seeing those glowing smoke piles was a bit annoying. There are quite a few of those nodes out there. I just respec'd her and the world looks so much nicer now.

I would like to be able to toggle the effect off for those times when I am not farming. As it stands now, I am reluctant to put those points back.

True. Keen eye should have been putting dots on a radar/minimap or somesuch (that can then be turned on/off).

Sort of absurd that literally everybody I know has turned off the grass so they can spot harvest nodes.

RP or not, I'd love to see the ability to turn them on and off at will. I would have spent points in the others, but if I see a sparkle, I automatically know it's an enchanting mat. It would be nice to be able to spend these points and still keep this type of ability instead of "everything sparkles" :/

I heard there will be a free respec for everyone with update 3 and i was thinking on removing the skillpoints from every profession in keen eye except from enchanting nodes. that shoold make the game much more pretty.
Still i agree with op, an off/on button is still needed.

It is, of course, but when I am not gathering, I can easily turn it on again. Keen Eye needs to be ON all the time.

    Thats my issue. =)
