The reason people are angry is because they are rewarding people who didn't support the game from the beginning with something that the community has been asking for for a while. Plus your example makes no sense... A kids meal isn't the same thing as a Big Mac. They are paying for the same product but getting more rewards. It's kinda symbolic of the fact that they don't really care too much about those who supported them the entire time. Plus I want a flippin dog >.<

A Kids meal is a cheaper smaller burger and fries and it comes with a no value toy! I pay more for a bigger burger and fries and I got no toy! Makes plenty of sense to me. (*)

They are bringing in new people, which is good for everyone. In fact much better than some stupid pet that means nothing. Most don't even bother with the special pets that have now...but suuuure, having a dog will make all the difference...lol. The fact is if the dog came first and a damn crab or monkey was with the stream promo, we would see the same level of whine.

Yeah except the kid gets the tasty burger for half the price you paid and still gets his toy.

Personally unless the dog can go bite an enemy player in Cyrodiil and snare him for 99.9% for 1 hour i don't give a crap about pets.

That said, many people do and have been supporting this game since release, i think it's only fair that they at least have the option of being able to buy this dog in the cash shop or something.

To be honest .. the cheap toy probably tastes better than a Macca's burger.

Macca's single handedly destroyed the iconic Aussie Burger which can now only be purchased from jealously guarded locations in the small coastal towns on the way to camping and fishing grounds around the east coast of Australia.

I have sworn never to buy a Macdonald's burger because of this .. and because they give me the squirts anyway.

I was a pet collector In WoW. Some people just like things more than others. Do you like your character to look cool? Do you like armor dyes? They don't help you. But they are quite popular in demand. I enjoy pets. So do many others in this game.

For the love of the divines, now you have made me hungry, I wanna big mac and it's not even 9am.

TBH I wasn't even aware of there being a store! The only game I ever got stuff from the store in was SWTOR and that was only cos I was a sub, got free store credit and wanted one of the armour sets for a twink.

I guess I have enough in my Big Mac value meal (I got coke with mine), I might have a macflurry later but right now I am busy scoffing burger goodness.

Not a single second should be spent by the devs on this crap with the game in the state its in. Fix medium, heavy armor, balance classes, optimize performance, fix broken abilities.......

Make the game work before trying to make it pretty.

It's not just a dog. It's not just a bunch of pixel. Because it's new, and different, and it's never seen in Tamriel before. People wants what they dont/cant have, it's human nature. You can see it this way. So, all of us payed $60 to get the game, spent endless hours and give feedback to the dev to make the game better and we get nothing. So, as a marketing thing, this game is offered to new Steam players for 50% off, and you get a dog. Really? Why are they so special? At least give us a way to get the damn dog, whether buy it with gold or get it from a quest, or something.

I like cats way more than dogs Irl but dogs seem like a pet that you would adventure with Ingame... More immersive imo.
