Nowhere in any official post by Zenimax have they told anyone to f**k off. That's YOUR interpretation of them offering new customers a special, exclusive item.
The onus is yours, not theirs.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.0 -

How are they telling anybody any such thing? Do you get this upset when every company you do business with offers incentives to attract new customers that you didn't get? If so you must spend an awful lot of time kicking yourself for all your poorly timed purchase decisions since companies in all sorts of businesses do this sort of thing all the time.
ZOS offered a product, you decided said product was worth the price they were asking and bought it, learn to live with your decisions.

Heck, the few times I have seen them up when we group to do a dungeon the first thing everybody asks is that all non-essential pets be turned off or invisible. This is such a non-issue to be upset about. If the Steam purchased version gave you better armor or more experience or a whole new zone I could see it. But a pet you won't even use most of the time? You REALLY think the majority of this player base is informed and gives a shizz about 'how modern businesses operate' as if that relates in ANY way to feeling slighted or envious of a pet which was asked for first BY ORIGINAL subscribers being created instead for new subbers and disallowing the original folks to get it?
Otoh, original subbers will probs be able to get it real soon for additional cash at the TESO CASH STORE, no worries.

Yep. And original TESO subbers and supporters, no worries just be patient. After some time ZOS will put it up on the CASH STORE for your (*additional) buying pleasure.

I have no idea how informed or uniformed the majority of the player base is with respect to modern business operations, nor did make any assertions regarding the subject. I simply pointed out to the other poster that only those that don't understand modern business operations are going to get "upset" about this promotion not being offered to current customers since it's illogical to offer sales promotions to people that have already bought the product you're attempting to promote.

I agree with your assessment, but am wholeheartedly in disagreement with the fact that this is how it has to be. They could have just as easily just have used the lower price as a selling point and avoided all the fuss. It is a sad reality that predatory marketing preys on those who are most willing to support a product, and I find that sad.
