Maintenance for the week of December 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)

I don't get it, can someone please explain this wolfhound issue without 400 pages worth of posts?

So just because it's a video game, it negates the fact that it's a wideley business practice that is perfectly acceptable there? NOW who's herping and derping?

Negates what? They just told a bunch of their current customers to *** off in an attempt to gain new ones. How is that good business?

It's pretty much a slap in the face for those who bought and supported the game the whole time. It's especially annoying for me because I've been asking for a dog vanity pet for the longest time.

This is the part that bothers me the most. The fact that so many current subbers have been asking for a dog pet... so Zeni creates the desired pet, but gives it to somebody else. I do not think it's a good marketing decision... I feel like the dog issue will push away more players than it'll bring in. I don't think the dog will be the deciding factor for those wanting the Steam version - unless they allow merged accounts.

    Buhwha??

Nowhere in any official post by Zenimax have they told anyone to f**k off. That's YOUR interpretation of them offering new customers a special, exclusive item.

The onus is yours, not theirs.

I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

A river of tears were shed over a useless vanity pet that will most likely be added to the cash shop at a later date.

Ahhh its been a good distraction from the real crazy *** that went down over the Ukraine today.

How are they telling anybody any such thing? Do you get this upset when every company you do business with offers incentives to attract new customers that you didn't get? If so you must spend an awful lot of time kicking yourself for all your poorly timed purchase decisions since companies in all sorts of businesses do this sort of thing all the time.

ZOS offered a product, you decided said product was worth the price they were asking and bought it, learn to live with your decisions.

Yes of course, I think you should teach ZOS a lesson and cancel your subscription because as we say here on Earth "some customers just aren't worth having".

And how many people would actually use it if they had it? Cosmetic pets are annoying to everybody in game and I rarely see them used in any MMO I have played. Heck, the few times I have seen them up when we group to do a dungeon the first thing everybody asks is that all non-essential pets be turned off or invisible. This is such a non-issue to be upset about. If the Steam purchased version gave you better armor or more experience or a whole new zone I could see it. But a pet you won't even use most of the time? Really?

I never said i was entitled to it, but to only offer it to new accounts is more or less what is going to upset people,

They're offering it as a promotion to incentivize people that haven't previously bought the product to buy the product (You know those that didn't find the original product offering enticing enough to fork over the requested price for it), what sort of a moron would offer purchase incentives to customers that already bought the product? The only people that are going to get upset by something like this are those that have no clue relative to how modern businesses operate.

What you want is some sort of "loyalty reward" , which is nice if you get one but you have no right to expect it (nor are you entitled to one) since you got what you paid for when made your purchase decision.

You absolutely MUST BE KIDDING with your assumption: "The only people that are going to get upset by something like this are those that have no clue relative to how modern businesses operate."...aren't you?

You REALLY think the majority of this player base is informed and gives a shizz about 'how modern businesses operate' as if that relates in ANY way to feeling slighted or envious of a pet which was asked for first BY ORIGINAL subscribers being created instead for new subbers and disallowing the original folks to get it?

Otoh, original subbers will probs be able to get it real soon for additional cash at the TESO CASH STORE, no worries.

Its like this. ZOS/Bethesda is about to go bankrupt. You only discount and do mass give away when your core customer/business model is broken. Not only have they not hit projected target sales but have angered enough of the players that paying sub numbers are in the toilet as well. ZOS is under contract to push a working console version by a certain target date. That is blown not only did they miss launch date but can not produce a stable mmo. Which means there is a lawsuit in the works. Soon as this becomes public it is over. Creditors are going to want payment on ZOS debts now. Then the choice is close up shut the server down without warning and layoff everyone or File for bankruptcy protection and hope the judge doesn't order the shut down. We warned you.

I have no idea how informed or uniformed the majority of the player base is with respect to modern business operations, nor did make any assertions regarding the subject. I simply pointed out to the other poster that only those that don't understand modern business operations are going to get "upset" about this promotion not being offered to current customers since it's illogical to offer sales promotions to people that have already bought the product you're attempting to promote.

I agree with your assessment, but am wholeheartedly in disagreement with the fact that this is how it has to be. They could have just as easily just have used the lower price as a selling point and avoided all the fuss. It is a sad reality that predatory marketing preys on those who are most willing to support a product, and I find that sad.

MUCH more important topics to be attended to by ZOS. However, it still reeks tbh.
