ZOS Is the new EA

As pathetic as this sounds, I am extremely mad at ZOS.

They're releasing a pet dog for those who didn't like the game enough to buy it when it first released. Why?

I've already been *** on by EA via Sims 4. I don't need it from ZOS too.

How do you know they didn't "like" the game enough?
Perhaps they were holding out for exactly this type of promotion.

Yes, I'm sure that's what it was.

I never used the pre-order pets but would really dig having a dog, myself.

They will probably make it available to current IE subscribers at no cost. That's kind of a no brainer.

It's not even the fact that we're missing out on a dog, it's the fact that ZOS knew this would boost steam sales for new players, and even those dumb enough to buy it just for the dog. They're in it for the money, they've ruined the Elder Scrolls series.

Ya your right. They should be in it to try to lose money amirite???

Why work for free when you can pay someone to work for them. Brilliant! Those damn employees they got there dont need to freaking eat...AMIRIGHT??

They have expressly stated its only for purchasers on Steam for the limited time of the offer. But that's as things stand currently. ZoS has no reason to poop on its current subscriber base. I expect some kind of update in the not too distant future to mitigate any impact from anyone angry at having purchased the game early. The last thing the ZoS needs among its current subscriber base is a reputation as money scrapers. You expect to be nickeled and dimed in f2p, not in sub based games.

lmao *** pls, they made more than an indie game makes in it's entire lifeline just through the damn $60 game, $60 not including those who bought the IE.

    $80 + $20 for a *** guar pet, + another $80 for a dog.

I'm mad that they're milking out a great game from the teet of a money making [Snip].

Probably something to do with hoping that adding a freebie will get those who didn't like the game enough to buy it when it was first released to buy it now, oddly enough private enterprise seems to enjoy using incentives to attract new customers, who'd have thunk it?

And don't get confused, I love this game, and I'm sure ZOS aren't as bad as I'm portraying them to be. But they have to realize that when it comes to certain choices for exclusive content, people, like me, can get annoyed.

This game is beautiful and has a vast future. I just feel like it's not being molded into what it could be.

I wish long future, long live ESO. This game is nice, we just need more dedicated people.

But Zenimax, don't never let ESO go f2p. Please.

Still no doggie for me, that I found sad actually :(

(I hope that update 3 don't mess up Cyrodiil again.)

Zenimax simply doesn't care about their customers.

We who were in the game up till now won't be able to participate in the TESO Steam community like the others will. No dog and no pig.

Irritating to say the least, :/

What difference would it make if they did? They are already gouging cash like it is a F2P game, the only real difference between this and a F2P game is that we got to pay a sub before we can play it.

I hate to say this but it sounds like it's time to move to a different game. The reputation of Elder Scrolls is being destroyed by terrible design. Once an MMO hits Steam it will be Free to play in a matter of months which may not be a bad thing but the content will be AS-IS

    Such language :disappointed:

Anyhow, I bet you could probably re-make every crappy Indie title ever made for the price tag of ONE ESO game lmao

I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

    Huh?

I'm annoyed about the dog thing too but you are grossly exaggerating.

In what way are they gouging anything? Every game markets to new players with incentives. This one is annoying because we can't get it but to say they are gouging is ridiculous. Because they charge a sub fee? Please.

"Gouging like a f2p game" would be having an in-game cash shop selling pets and bank space, etc. We aren't anywhere remotely resembling that.

    More drama.

Oh Sapphy24 I just laughed so hard! Right frickking right. With ALL the other problems TESO needs to attend to...taking away even ONE more of my valued bag or bank spaces is the very least of my probs. Thank you :D !

Of course they have, look at horses for example. Unless you want to play running simulator until you've earned the insane amount of gold to buy a horse you have to cough up extra beyond your base game and subscription either for the full imperial edition or the palomino horse off the cash shop. It treats standard edition owners as second class citizens which is pretty much the same as F2P games treat the non payers yet the standard edition players are still paying a sub fee to play the game.

As for the dog it is pretty insignificant in itself, however it's more the message it send more than anything. They would rather spend the time creating these limited time offers with fluff in order to sell more copies rather than attempt to keep the current subscription base happy and content with the game.
