Look at the reason for it. MORE people in ESO! Good for us all!
I do not want to do it, but there are several really good quotes from you regarding the game, that applies here. Of respect that you actually brings something to most discussions, I wount quote them......but common!
Rare drops will ONLY drop in the end game instances/trials/raids/dungeons and even got a "hard" mode with items ONLY able to get from there.

. I respect almost all of zenimax's decisions to date. Just not this one. Either way I won't unsub over it. Good point about more people in ESO. And tbh I kinda find the hound ugly. I just want that tan dog lol.

As you, I accept Zenimax way, because so far its been good overall.
This thing with the dog, Steam and discount is the SUITS who wants money.
Think about it. This is a small thing, only a few days discount.
It COULD have been: AH, free test accounts (inviting gold farmers) or F2P = we leave the game.
Sorry buddy, but before I tell you this...have another Talisker, on me. 12 year smoked one. PvP arenas will not be in game. HOWEVER, we still dont know how the PvP capital + the justice system will turn out.
Paul Sage was pretty clear. No arena with its own score etc. Not in the near future anyway.

I don't think for a second this have anything to do with the DEVS, game managers or anyone in developing. Its business! The DEVS works with suggestions from US! How much more can they show THEY care?
There is a BIG event. Of course the business wants to get full attention and most income from it. I know, because.....I AM, a suit ;-). I think the DEVS are glaring at the market people more then we do.

I am no mind reader, but I a good educated guess is that EVERY DEV is thinking "WTF!?!?!...after all our work!"

Quite. If there were an achievement a la WoW for collecting all of the pets for a shiny title, or worse, a legendary weapon called Trollkarl that slays everything with ease, than that may be worth unsubbing for, but as Cogo pointed out; unsub for a vanity dog?
