One of my characters all of a sudden won't work

It's incredibly laggy and force quits every time I try to play with my main character. I had to start a new one to see if the problem was with the game or my connection. The new one I started works fine and doesn't have any problems at all. Is this because of the certain mission I'm trying to do or is there just a problem once you hit level 17? Which would make no sense lol Any help would be swell. Thank you!

✭✭It happens every so often, your level makes no difference. ✭✭✭✭✭I have had a character get all flakey on me. Even after logging in and out of another one. I rebooted my PC and all was well again.
Also, don't ignore that it can be your internet connection. While an online game does not transfer that much data, it is a continuous stream of packets. If a bunch of people are latching onto your Router, then that can slow the game down. If this is the case, you can lock down your router, or buy one that allows more simultaneous connections and better data throughput. (in other words, if you have a Linksys WRT54G, if anyone else is connected to that and streaming Netflix, your gaming is going to suffer)Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

✭✭You could try deleting the shader cache file. It will be found in your documents folder of ESO. A new one will be created automatically by the game.

✭✭✭✭✭Is your character in DC Stormhaven by any chance? If so, welcome to the club.
There's a bug with Windridge Cave that renders your char unplayable. You don't even have to be in the cave, just getting near it is enough.
