OK where are the motif's

For the last 4 or 5 days or so i have been playing for 8 hours+ per day i opened every cuboard,trunk.cabinet,desk i have come across and have not found one motif
WTF is going on.
I have loads of crap armour/weapons that just fill up my bags Style stones comming out my ear's and various food/drink but no sign of any motif of any colour.
WHERE ARE THEY.

Food4Thought✭✭✭I still get them on a regular basis - at least the common ones any way. Luck must just not be on your side lately.

I'm all for interacting in the game world and picking up weapons and armor. In fact I think it is kind of cool to be honest. Brings the world more to live when you find a pile of these at the feet of some miniboss. But finding worthless armor and weapons in storage containers really sucks. Like some random citizen is going to drop a great sword or plate mail in a barrel in the middle of town ...
Freaken over kill was what that decision was. I can see dumpster diving for old ingredients and the food stained covered scroll. But somebody tossing Grand dad's VR level 1 sword in the dump ... not so much.Edited by Food4Thought on July 15, 2014 5:27PM3 -

i have had incredible massive luck finding motif's everywhere and actually over loaded the guild bank and persoanl bank and almost all 8 of my characters have the full set, ACCEPT for the rare motifs daedric, ancient elf, imperial ect ect. i have never not even once found one of those. not once - no where

I can find all kinds of food ingredients salt,pepper,red wheat, barley found some blue and purple recipes ( things other people want) crab meat and cake flour all day long which would be great if any of my toons were into provisioning but they're not. I bought the Primal for 15k and really want barbaric and deadric just not willing to pay 20k+ . I found primal and barbaric within 15 minutes of each other and another barbaric shortly after.
RNG though is curse upon MMO's, why can't these things be earned from things like dungeon bosses or PvP rewards?0 -

Since i made the OP i have gone from V2 to V5 and still not found a motif having done the same as i did before open everything i have come across.
Still finding loads of crap armour/weopons with absolutly no value what so ever.
Please ZOS have a look at motif drop rates its getting beyond a joke now.

Iago✭✭✭✭✭I have found one argonian, one bosmer and 2 khajiit motifs since I rolled my main. the rest of them I have had to purchase. I loot everything. and come up with squat but basic materials and a small handfull of blue recipies.That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

tengri✭✭✭✭✭It's the new junk gear they introduced a few weeks back.
Before that motif drop rates were... ok. Sort of.
No special farming or anything required - just looking into everything (and I mean everything, every tent, house, barn, dungeon, whatever) once while exploring got me all I needed and more (2x sets blue, 2x sets purple first alliance, couple of extra blues and one purple which I dumped either in guild bank or sold to WTB in chat).
But since everything has become cluttered up with junk gear drop chances are affected rather badly; going through 4 first VR zones (primal/barbaric) and 3 second VR zones (aelf/deadric) I got nothing. Same looting method (look once) as before...
I doesn't really bother me as much because I have what I need and frankly I like none of the purple styles but still... changes are very noticeable.1 -
Adrastes✭✭✭really stupid nerf from zenimax looking back at this. im guessing they nerfed drop rate cos of farming/bots. well guess what? now the only way if you are not super lucky is log in log out rinse and repeat and as a player that doesnt really entice me much, the farmers and bots in the otherhand.. yea they go business as usual.0

Anex✭✭✭The drop rate got worse with the zero value items they added that you could pick up to use. They filled the drawers, cabinets, desks, wardrobes etc. So much junk in my inventory, nary a green recipe in sight, much less even a blue motif.0

✭The drop rates for motifs have been going up and down like crazy over the months since release. Like many other tweaks from ZOS, it seems like they are over-compensating and swinging between extremes rather than making small, well considered adjustments.
They have problems with their code having "too many moving parts", as stated in the QuakeCon panel. This is partly due to the inherent complexity of an MMO, but it looks as if it is also a problem with bad code design. In any case, I'm sure the drop rates will be sorted out over time.0 -

✭✭✭✭I found an Ancient Elves two days ago, my first motif for absolutely ages, however where I found it was quite odd....... It was in a VR9 quest and I was opening everything to boost my provisioning mats.
You know those really small 'pots' it was in one of those, a very nice surprise

Syzmicke✭✭✭I would'nt mind if the crap thats in the cuboards/trunks/urns/wardrobes/desk's have a trait on them sometimes at least would make it worth something instead of zero gold value and evenless to get anything from deconstructing.
