Buying Stable Space

I am playing a Breton Sorcer, Daggerfall Covenant, lvl 20; I have one horse now, the Imperial, and I have one corresponding stable space. I can't buy more horses because I don't have anymore stable space. How do I buy more stable space? I don't see an option for buying stable space at the Stable Vendor.

The same NPC who sells you horses (and feed) sells the stable space, have a better look

Look at the very bottom of the screen when you're talking to the stable vendor. The same place you look to see how much a bank upgrade will cost.

Ok, thanks. Is it on the first screen that comes up when in the Stable Vendor's store?

If by "store" you mean the place where you choose what to feed your horse, then yes. I'm not sure if it shows in the store where you buy horses.

There are several menus in the Stable Vendor's store; here is one picture for feed:

While watching this video I figured this out; and by virtue the above comments now make since. When you are talking to a stable master and in their store you will see at bottom center on the screen roughly the following, "[F] Buy Stable Space (100 gold)". In other words, press 'F' to buy.

Maybe I'm just being dense, but what is the game difference between having a horse and having stable space? I bought a horse and at the bottom of the screen it says F: BUY STABLE SPACE (10 G)

Why do I need to buy stable space if I already have a horse. What does "stable space" actually give me in the game?

Imho, it's only an option for having a different horse skin, that's all.
    You have the choice:
1 mount with all stats or 3 with 1 stat maxxed out per horse. (or all stats but it'll take a year).

I've chosen the 1st option, because i don't want to get back (and lose time) to stable in order to switch mount.

You have a limited number of times that you may feed the horse, I believe it is 50 in total, of which you can spend it on any of the three horse attributes as you want (but word is stamina is broken)

Having more stable space means you can have more horses which means you can specialize each horse.

This is a great question; when you buy your first horse it is with you and not in the Stable. You will have to buy Stable space if you want your horse to be stored at your stable; you will only need to do this if you actually have more than one horse. You can only have one horse with you at a time so if you buy a second it will have to be stored at the stable.

HOW do you store your horse? I have multiple characters but most are banking alts and only two are active and have a horse. I bought a stable space thinking perhaps it would save paying 250 gold every day to feed my horse especially on days when I don't intend to play that character and use his horse.

But I couldn't see any option to put the horse in the stable. Just an empty box that said there was no horse.
    If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

The only reason for buying stable space is if you want to purchase more than one horse on a single character. You cannot store a horse in the stable so that your character has 0 active horses if that character has purchased a horse before.

    Well, that sucks :(

What happens if I don't play a character for a week and he doesn't feed his horse?

    Does the horse die? :)

@Arizona_Willie‌ Horses cannot die. Feeding is purely for customizing your horse, upgrading it if you will. By feeding it you add to its stats kinda like spending an attribute point on your own character sheet adds to your stats.

Nothing bad comes of not feeding your horse... well except that it will take longer for your horse to be fully upgraded if you care about that. Horses can be fed roughly once a day and have 49 upgrades (capped at lvl 50).

Perhaps, but I could have sworn that after a couple missed feedings mine would swerve, ever so slightly, towards those giant thorn bushes jutting up out of the ground...;)
