Agreed, we need better rewards.
I just have completed Cadwell's Gold and the reward was a completely useless necklace... Damn, I just completed ALL factions quests! And that is my reward? Really?
since the risk in this game is mediocre at best the rewards are just fine, if there was actually a downside to dying or losing a battle then yea, up the reward but as it stands, little to no risk should have little to no reward.
Very EASY answer. People have got used to getting "rewarded" for sneezing, in games.
To WORK for a reward, or even POSSIBLE reward has become alien.
We have become spoiled.
Very few sees the fact you accomplish something on your own, or with friends, as a reward.
Also, MMOs today have to do something about rewards because of the easy access to how to do a quest, kill a boss, etc. When its not "you" who does it....but "you who collects" it....the reward needs to be equal to that.
For example, Zenimax have stated that RARE items (RARE as in very few players will even get them) will be in Craglorn raids. And ONLY those who master this raid, will have a CHANCE for them. Thats a REAL reward
This is hard to balance.
Ask yourself, is it a reward to get an achievement where the only thing you need to do, it follow a simply guide, and do what that say?

All of the end game itemization is horrible Cogo. there is no uber loot in craglorn trials there is medicore set gear and two or three sets with unique looks. Same for the 4 man Vr dungeons they are horribly itemized the gear is worthlesscompared to crafted . there is no ultra rare loot table. they have even stated they know the itemization is in thier words "not as rewarding as we would have intended" which translates too bad.
And all the set gear had two tiers VR 5 and VR 10. Dont start defending bad design lets hold them to the fire for it , we are paying for this crap man!

But as far as I can see, people here aren't complaining that the game as a whole seems "boring", this is about a particular aspect that doesn't seem well-balanced in the game world. Personally, I don't find ESO's quests boring, quite the opposite - I enjoy them immensely. They're well-written and immersive, most of them. But still: If you, "the hero", do lots of great things in an important mission - or even, as in BenS1337's example, have completed all faction's quest areas, and your reward is some mediocre item - doesn't that feel somewhat incongruous to you? It's the "all I got was this lousy t-shirt" effect, one could call it.
