Crafting Materials Vault

Any ideas?

I like the idea of one bank is shared between all accounts makes transfers easy esp with account bound items. But I don't have bank space as it is now my bank space is nothing but stacks of crafting material. Its worthless to sell and takes up to much space.

I'd like them to stack higher then 100 per stack as one set of armor alone is around 84 ignots give or take 10 and psobil even a personal, or guild, Materials valut that can store unlimited amounts of crafting materials then bank space is left alone like a special inventory in other games.

It's just an idea I would love to hear others input on this. And perhaps even an official ZOS response .

Shuffling items around is ridiculous, confusing and time consuming.

I agree with you that I would like to see a better banking system in some shape or form to take the tedium out of having to manage inventory on my characters. However there have been a number of threads without a response on the subject so I'm guessing ZOS is not interested in changing it.

Some people have said that ZOS' reasoning for the limited and expensive costs associated with bag/bank space is to limit people's ability to become a crafter in everything. So I'm guessing if that is right that they want to avoid providing free slots for crafting materials because that would fly in the face of their goal of preventing people from having multiple crafts. I think though that if preventing multiple crafts is the reason behind the limited bank spaces it isn't working as people are leveling up all the crafts they want and just suffering through the grind that is the bank/inventory shuffle.

I have previously suggested that they increase the number of slots we get with each purchase of bank slots from 10 to 15 or that we get more slots when we create an alternate, because I think multiple characters really compounds the problems with the current bank space. At this stage just about anything that frees up some more bank space without having to bankrupt all of my characters to get it would be welcome.

Keep in mind that Account bank upgrades to 240 inventory spaces (yes with great cost). I'm certainly not against ZoS throwing more inventory spaces at us but even on my VR8 main with 100% crafting maxed and working on 7 and 8-traits now space isn't really a huge issue once the Account bank gets into the 130-150 area. The bigger issue is some folks like to keep everything and as an example MOST of the Provision ingredients are worthless once you level it up as they only make food that can be vendored for 1g/ea.

The Potency Runes only stacking to 20 is another problem. Companion pets, Maps and Disguises taking up inventory space when they probably shouldn't another. But, stacks of 100 is adequate and the current system is also adequate if you use it right. Yes I know there's a million arguments for unlimited storage but there's also plenty of people here that are happy with ZoS's choice to limit your ability to hoard items.

I'm still researching traits and I have a big pile of them to research which is taking up room. Raw materials for crafting armour and weapons, provisioning and potions for 3 characters in different zones and needing different materials is also a pain. My altoholism is the curse of my inventory, lol.

FYI update 3 is increasing potency stack to 100

I used to have researchable items taking up much of my inventory and bank space. I made alts and had them research all the traits, clearing my bank of researchable items.

It seriously just made my day too! Woot!!! I counted awhile back that I would have 15 free spaces in my bank if they stacked to 100.

*insert Homer drool* mmmm 15 spaces....

That was the key for me, just keeping the food/drink ingredients that I wanted at that time. Example, when in my 40's, I just kept beef, lard and salt to make a max health/stam food.

Because provisioning does not make any money, and because it is so easily leveled to maximum without even trying, there's really no need to really keep all the extra food piles, and especially not keep ingredients for things that are too low a level for you, unless you are the guild chef or something.

I have two crafter (one of them my combat main), and several combat alts. What I do, is get the crafters to pick up their crafting stuff from the bank before they log off, and deposit it when they go out questing. This leaves enough room for transfers of any things from character to character.

That defeats the purpose of even researching the traits unless you leveled up crafting on all the related characters.

Not really, if you research the different traits on different alts, then when you need to research a specific trait on your main crafter, you make an item on one of the alts who has that specific trait, put the item in the bank, go to your crafter and then research it there.
It is actually pretty clever to do it that way, releases a lot of space in the bank, since you can in theory research all the traits pretty fast, and have the ability to make them for your main crafter when you need them
