New ways to make Gold(?)

I used to relogfarm Ancient Elf and Daedric motifs to earn the Gold needed to bring my gear to Legendary.

However the changes to loot tables by adding crapgear hit the droprates very hard for me (I've been relogfarming for nearly two days now without getting anything), so relogfarming motifs is hardly viable anymore.

Does anyone know of other ways to get Gold (or Legendary crafting materials) "rather" quickly (i.e. not running around for dozens of hours to farm Jute etc. and hope to get the mats there)?

    1. Be a master crafter. I'm making 25-40k a day just from crafting
    2. Have 7 hirelings on 7 alts. You get legandary mats everyday. Sell them.

Requires more work / play than farming motifs thou :P
This are not NEW ways but it always worked and i bet it will always do, at least being a crafter...

I really hope they rethink this whole addition of crap gear. I understood why they added it, people saying 'Hey I say this really nice sword sitting there, why can't I pick it up and use it'. Good for Zen for trying, but in doing that they added them as useless, so why bother picking them up and it messed with the loot table. This idea should have stayed on the drawing board.

Oh, it's easy. I made these friends in the game that farm gold, then sell it to other players for real cash!

They are really nice and even have their own websites. :D

No, but what OP is saying is that he used an exploit to get better chances of getting stuff wich is not intended.

well, relog farming is quite popular, and since ZoS does have a limit on how frequent you can relog, I can only assume what OP did was within that limit.

    For OP

there are many ways to make gold. Farming alchemy reagent, runestones, racial crafting mat (daedra heart, etc) are all pretty viable. Many of these sells for 100-300 a piece. You can get a rare motif's worth pretty quickly.

In fact, they are better options now since the crap white trash items doesn't affect these.

I thought this was going to be a thread that someone used alchemy to make gold.

We can only make potions with it and not gold... well literally that is. Quite ironic when you think on it. I think if we tried that with alchemy in this game it would end up like this.

I'll trade straight across for basic motifs.

    That is farming for motifs.

    If it isn't, please explain.

Generalized harvesting or mob farming is good for 5k-10k per hour of stuff depending on luck and competition. To make one leg endgame piece that would be 4-8 hours of time. Not too bad when you think about it. Legs aren't even necessary anyways.

It's no 20k+/hr motif farming but it'll get you by. There's no "golden goose" anymore.

Buying low, selling high is the FASTEST way to make tons of gold, but it takes tons of gold to start off if you want to hit Ludicrous Speed from day 1. There's a great many players who do this with Motifs (even the el cheapos) and upgrade mats, or even Alchemy mats.

I picked this thread sine it was the most recent "make gold" thread so I have a few basic questions:

Is selling trait gems a reliable way to make gold? I am practically swimming in them so I wonder how high the demand must be

Should I try to sell raw or refined materials? I would assume raw, but it can't hurt to ask

I am a BS/woodworker but haven't been making gear for people and I assume that is actually the best way to make $$

    Thanks!

-Buy Raw mats and sell Refined Bars/Wood/Cloth (even if it's to vendor) because you want the upgrade mats and that's where you make the gold. Make sure you have 3/3 in the skill that gives a higher chance at receiving upgrade mats for decon and refining.

-Trait stones themselves meh, it's not really a great money making venture.

-Selling Traits on a weapon or armor item for someone to stick in research, that's pretty good money, usually 300-1000g each.

Before you pull out a dictionary, according to ZoS, the company who makes this game logging to "farm" Motifs isn't remotely considered an exploit therefore the previous poster was correct, it isn't an exploit.

    ex·ploit
take advantage of somebody: to take selfish or unfair advantage of a person or situation, usually for personal gain
use something for benefit: to use or develop something in order to gain a benefit

As I said by definition it is an exploit. Now Zenimax forums moderators have said it won't get you banned but if you know this increases the chances of getting something so you're solely doing it to make a profit (personal gain) by definition yes it's an exploit.

Just like the bank glitch worked by design but when ppl started using it for personal gain it became an exploit.

If everyone is told this is how to obtain something that's one thing but if it's only known by a select few or even a select many the way the information is used can make it an exploit.

    Ever heard of Martha Stewart

Farming is if he was using this to gain.motifs for his character. He is not using this to farm items for himself or others. It's being used ONLY for personal gain.
    That's the difference.

If a person kills a NPC over and over again until they get a desired item for them that's farming. Farming for mats and gear but getting the same items over and over again using an oversight in the design in the gain to make you more money at the expense of others is morally wrong. By definition see above it fits the term exploit.

This isn't an exploit....by any stretch.....
In Warcraft when I was farming rare mounts, I would run an instance then reset the instance and run it again. It's called Farming for a reason, not an exploit...
