Thoughts on the Upcoming Changes/Improvements to the Guild System

Hey guys

I love what's in store for us come early august. Just a few thoughts on the matter of guilds:

Stalls

Since we'll be able to rent merchant stalls to peddle our wares to the general public, please also introduce a way to raise the neccessary funds easily, without having to collect them from members individually.

- Sales taxes are adjustable and collected by the guild bank (I believe this is coming, the necessary mechanics seem to be mostly in place)
- Auromatically collected membership fees (I'd prefer the first option)

EDIT: No longer relevant

Recruitment

To lessen the need for /z guild ad spamming, I propose the following addition:

A guild index, that could be either integrated as an always available ui window, or hanging from town squares.

This index will...:

- Contain a list of all guilds
- Indicate whether they are recruiting or not
- Display the guild's description and their requirements of new recruits
- Include an interface allowing you to send applications directly

Having your guild listed there could cost a modest fee once a month.

Thanks for reading, discuss.

I think the auctioned public trading stalls are a really bad idea.

If everyone could raise money easily, there would be no point having an auction to get your market place

And even if you could, it still wouldn't work for the simple reason 500 member rich guilds or more likely guilds full of exploiters will always win hence most normal guilds will never ever own one.

Worse still is that all of us with our 50 + member guild stores will struggle to find anyone to join our trading guilds as there will be no real point them doing so, why join up to my or any other trading guild when you can simply use all the 500 member public trading guilds and go to numerous different ones without having to join them.

It will be a market dominated by a few wealthy guilds, and there will be little if any free economy

You're right, didn't think about it that way. But I think you still have to join the guilds to sell at their stalls.

Ok, looks like the guild store tax is coming in a way. I still firmly believe the recruitment part should be implemented in a future patch though.
