I noticed forums are often full of threads about problems or complaints.... So I thought I'd start one where everyone can show their gratitude for this awesome game!
What is one thing YOU love about ESO?
I'll start... I love that I can craft awesome armor as I level up. I can choose my own set bonuses and visual style, and soon also color! This is the first MMO I've played where crafting produces some VERY useful items exactly how I want them.
First of all, thank you for this thread! Great Idea!!!
When I played Oblivion (for hundreds of hours) I would always have conversations with my husband about how I wished I could play the game with just one or two other people. ESO did just that only on a much larger scale ...Of course it is an MMO and isn't like Oblivion in many ways, but I still feel like I got my wish.
I love how beautiful the game is... and I love love love getting to choose what exactly my armor looks like (to get even better with the dyes)
There is also a specific dungeon/delve in Cyrodiil (don't remember what it was called). It has these amazing waterfalls and a whirlpool you can jump into. I love finding neat places like that.
I love being able to play a TES game in a larger world with friends. Beautiful environments, familiar stories, great humour and dialogue with a fun combat system and lots of things to do around every corner.
PUG Life - the true test of your skill
18 characters, 17 max level, at least 1 Stam and 1 Mag of every class, 1 of every race and 1200+ CP
Tanked to Undaunted 9+ Mag and Stam of every class using Group Finder for 90+% of the Vet Dungeon runs
I love all the little details. And the world is flawless. You don't walk around and see things, where you're thinking: wtf? what is this thing doing here?
Für das Dominion und die Königin!
Bosmer - Nachtklinge
"Man mag den Stamm trennen, aber die Ranke tötet man damit nicht."
I love the fact you're not limited by your class.
Mages can tank, Nightblades can heal, etc.
I'm also in love with the active blocking and the fact you're limited to 5 skills and an ultimate.
The Graphics - Sometimes I just stop in Aww at a Scenic Site or Awesome Lighting in a Dungeon.
The Look - It has a sense of Realism. There are no big Shinny Glowing Weapons, no Weird Pink and Purple Mounts, or no over Exaggerated Character Models. Thank the Divines.
The Skill System - Being able to play how I want, whenever I want without making a new Character is Priceless.
The Combat - Watching the fight instead of a cooldown on my hotbar is very Engaging. 6 hotkeys bound to my Mouse makes Combat very Fluid. 6 Hotkeys, not 50 but 6.
The Quests - It feels like I'm Experiencing the World rather than just Leveling Up.
The Story - Main story, Mages Guild Story, Fighters Guild Story I loved them All and can't wait for More.
The World - The Elder Scrolls Games are my Favorite games to date because of the Worlds they created. For me this game lived up to those Expectations.
Exploring - Yes, it is not exactly like past Elder Scrolls games, but I get travel around Tamriel. Can't do that is Skyrim.
The People - Ever since Morrowind I thought to myself, "How cool would it be to do this with other people"? Now I can.
What a pleasure it is to stumble upon a cheerful thread of what people LIKE, instead of the endless complaints (even if those complaints are justified). I've played this game since beta and still loving it months later, still finding new things, enjoying a bit of RP with my vampires, etc.
When my sub runs out in november, I'm considering re-subbing as the game is still a great deal of enjoyment for a retired old fogey like me! Keeps me occupied, you know!
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.
I love the things you find that have nothing to do with the story. Yesterday I found the elf who thinks he is a Khajiit and later I found his wife complaining about how he dresses strangely now.
1. It's not WoW
2. It's beautiful
3. It's really good fun
4. It can be challenging instead of faceroll (although I disapprove of them nerfing vet content)
5. It reminds me of Ultima Online
6. The crafting systems are engaging, fun, and most important of all, produce useful equipment
7. PVP is fun, Cyrodiil reminds me of the Lost Lands from UO and I love that I'm not forced to play in a restricted way, I can go where I want and team up with as many or as few people as I like
8. PVE is fun - the quests are interesting and entertaining, with nods to modern issues and diversity and whatnot. It has gay and lesbian NPCS. It has racial diversity. The first time I saw an NPC who'd had their eyes ripped out I was genuinely shocked.
9. The lore is rich and interesting
10. The controls are simple and intuitive and for the first time in 15 years of playing MMOs I don't actually need to use the extra 18 buttons down the side of my keyboard
11. The freedom of choice on abilities that I use, and the onus being on me to work out what suits my play style
I've said to many friends: you don't realise just what a poor standard you've been putting up with from other MMOs until you dive into a refreshing non-WoW clone like ESO and have your eyes opened for you.
My favorite part of this game is that instead of being confined to one province, I am free to wander most of Tamriel, able to visit other races in their home environment (for the most part). The world feels enormous and diverse, but then I can take my character "home" and everybody still knows who she is ("why yes, I did save King Casimir. I believe I'm owed some ale").

Rise, rise! To freedom, rise! Arise, ye Breton sons and daughters.
Ride, ride! To freedom, ride! Truth and glory to the brave!

The game is stunningly beautiful. The world designers deserve all the praise I can bestow upon them as every zone is a feast for the eyes. I constantly find myself looking around and being impressed by everything I see.
I love the memory leaks and I like the randomness of busted quests and missing npc's. The best things are the stupid answers and ignored emails from CS. It makes players have to work as a community asking if X is working in cold harbor today and going over months of posted bug reports to find player work arounds like having to strip off your armor and throw yourself off the ledge to get a small chance of getting the quest completion. And the fanboi posts of how to spead fertilizer on how this is such an awesome example of programing.
Customer Support does a first rate job. The few times I've needed to contact them, they reply quickly and professionally. I feel like they take the issue seriously and that they actually listen. I've never had to wait for more than an hour (may have been shorter) for a reply, unlike in other MMOs where I literally had to wait days for a response.
Also, I love that the dev team listens to player suggestions. I was hugely impressed that practically all the issues I brought up during the beta were addressed in some way. I'm very excited about the new content coming up. I can only imagine what awesomeness is on its way in the coming years.
The crafting brings me back to SWG days. Where you could pick a set of armor you really liked, craft it or have some one craft it for you. AND LOOK LIKE A BAD ASS! The dyes are going to be awesome I can't even wait.
That world though! I love love love love love that I am in Tamriel! I have always wanted to be able to play with a few of my friends in the world. HERE IT IS! The land is stunning, the nights are breath taking *I have been looking for constellations * Dungeons look amazing, player models and weapons/mounts are not insane like other MMORPGs
Combat. I enjoy the 6 skills you get to use. It makes you be able to focus on the combat more than your HUD. I get to block, dodge roll, jump, run out of combat/into combat. That is just awesome
PVP: Ohhhh boy the large scale of PVP in this world is awesome!
The world, the graphics, and the music, but mostly the stories! Some of the quests and questlines I've come across gave me great joy or sadness, and some just left me laughing hysterically. Part of the reason the stories are so good is that the game has some really great NPCs.

My Favorite Things(ESO edition)
Raindrops on Nirnroot and whiskers on khajiit
Bright copper pauldrons and warm woolen hand guards
Dead necromaniac cultists tied up with jute
These are a few of my favorite things
Diamond colored mount and crisp apple sweetrolls
Dungeons and dual wielding and recipes with plump worms
Wild Dragon Knights that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in scale armor with blue satin tabards
Bosses that stay on my screen and my slashes
Elite monsters that leap straight right at me
These are a few of my favorite things
When the werewolf bites
When the one shot stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad!
I love how easy it is to find the option to unsubscribe. I also think the way that basic game mechanics are hidden from the players is just awesome! I mean, you would totally lose out on the joy of experimentation if they just wrote down all the stuff like "enchanting will have different values on different armor parts" somewhere! I love that their interpretation of "class balance" and "functional game" have redefined the paradigm! I love that two people playing the exact same game in the exact same area and in the same party can see two totally different things - and not see each other! That's so innovative and cool! I'm so glad I put money into this amazing venture that will no doubt set the bar for games to come in the future.
ESO is the most beautiful MMO on the market, in my opinion.
The crafting system is actually -useful-, unlike many games.
My wife and I can play in the Tamriel together.
This. Replace 'wife' with 'best friend' and I'm with you 100%.
In other games I worked crafting mostly to entertain myself. In ESO I caft because it keeps all my characters and all my friend's characters in awesome gear. It's relevant and THAT is fantastic!
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.
I love the graphics, combat, pvp, pve, attention to detail, for example: reflections in windows when you cast skills, different footstep sounds ( skeleton costume has it's own footstep sound ), horses start out slow for the first second or two when you ride them ( one of the things I hated in WoW was when you started moving, your mount immediately started running at full speed.. It made it seem choppy)
Pretty much everything about this game except that it really needs arenas or a duel function.
The gorgeous, highly detailed world. From Auridon to Elden Root to Stonefalls to the Alik'r Desert, the game is full of amazing places and beautiful vistas. The new lighting just adds another layer. It's a beautiful game.
The stories are some of the best I've experienced in Elder Scrolls. Particularly some of the side quests, adding surprising depth and emotional impact to the world.
I've had a great time in the last few months. Looking forward to more
