Can we get a button to go along with the agree, lol, insightful, etc buttons that we can click when the reply/post is dumb and a bait, troll, or just outright wrong?

I agree and unlike the other guy who said he agreed, I clicked the agree button just like I would click a disagree button.

For now the pejorative button is "LOL" which to me means "Laughing Out Loud"

    No.

If you disagree with someone at least say why, a simple dislike/disagree leads to people just clicking dislike/disagree without saying why. It adds nothing to a discussion and lets people troll too easily.

If you disagree with me say why, I won't be offended, not unless you insult me personally. I respect quite a few people who disagree with me, and can even be converted with a sound arguement, as I'm pretty open-minded.

The flag is to report posts that violate the TOS.

@Alex: it's not any different than the other buttons we have. Do people need to reply and explain why they think a post is LOL, insightful, or they agree? I never do... It's just an easy way to let the poster know without filling the thread with superfluous posts.

The disagree button was around during beta but was removed when the game went live.

The flag button can be used for a problem post like someone trolling. Can be used to report a i quit topic.

They used to have a disagree option, among a few others as well.

They removed them for various reason along the beta testing path, while others were removed prior to going LIVE.

I'm sure they had their reasons for removing those options, which means you'd have to come up with VERY GOOD reasons to bring them back.

Agreed. The lol button is used for legitimately funny comments and also ridiculous comments, as in laughing in disagreement because a statement is so wrong/nonsensical/off-topic/etc. At least that's how I use it...

+1 from me, I'd like to use the LOL button when I find a post actually funny, instead most use it to show they don't like what the poster said.

How was it a troll tool? We're peoples posts getting deleted if they go too many dislikes or something? It just doesn't make sense to me how that would cause issues.

Dislikes/disagrees had negative values I believe so nobody had any score for their forum rating.

If you see a comment with one Insightful, two agrees, no awesomes, and 50 Disagrees, would you join in?? Because quite a few wouldn't and apparently some people just clicked disagree on EVERYTHING.

Which is why it was removed.

If you agree, or think something is insightful or awesome, then you don't need to say any more, because you agree with that person. If you disagree, it could be for any number of reasons, and just clicking disagree doesn't say which, and adds nothing to a discussion.

Whereas not having the button means you have to explain why you disagree, which gives the person you are disagreeing a chance to defend their viewpoint, or change it if you have a good point. You might be wrong about the reason you disagree, I have been countless times (that's right I didn't bother to count), and someone can give you the correct info, changing your view. That's the beauty of debate, if you approach it with an open mind, you can learn an aweful lot.

(I know that's not how you spell awful, it's a pun)

And to many others as laughing WITH not AT, so receiving a LOL is entirely ambiguous and so it's pointless using it: and in any case if you're laughing AT someone they get the last laugh because you just gave them a few more forum points.

Actually, LOLs don't give points, so they really don't matter in the forum ranking system. That said, most people should be able to tell whether they've said something genuinely funny or if people who are too lazy to actually offer a counterpoint decided that a mouse-click was an appropriate rebuttal.

OP: As mentioned by others in this thread, if you disagree, then explain why. If you don't want to take the time, then clearly the issue isn't important enough to you.

We had one during beta (disagree) and it was abused so it got taken away. Now we have only positive buttons because some people can't play nicely together.

Also, it wasn't conducive to conversation. It doesn't help the devs any if 100 people click disagree on a post. It helps if you explain why you actually disagree.
