Weapon racks

I appreciate that weapon racks are now useable. Thank you, ZOS, every little thing can make the game that much better.

That said...
  • Can you please make the weapons worth at least one gold.
  • Can they have a chance to have a trait on them, for crafting?
  • Can you give a chance that you can find a cool weapon once is a rare while?

Right now when I click on weapon racks, all I think is, "All I'm going to find is a 0 gold item. It's a game. This is for balance. This is kind of lame".

I should be thinking, "Cool, a weapon rack, I wonder what I'll get!"

I'm not saying there needs to be expensive stuff, I know there needs to be a balance, but right now this feature is a bland reminder it's just a game, instead of a feeling something cool might happen.

What do you guys think? Should ZOS change it just a little? What's your idea?

Hopefully they just put it in as a base so they can flesh it out later, if this is all they're going to do with it, they might as well get rid of it.

They definitely need to make the lootable items more worth while. It was really dumb to make them worth zero gold and mix them in with other loot tables. They say it was a bug on one hand and then say it was intentional on another so we're left wondering what the hell was the point and intention.

Like you kill a boss in a cave and you notice a dead adventurer with a sword laying next to him, that sword should be of higher quality or a chance at higher quality. Or you climb a mountain and find a sword in a stone or in a waterfall or encased in ice and it's something epic (using Excalibur as an example)

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I like the way it is. There are tons to pick up but they only give a few extra XP and the occasional item. But it can't be just farmed but still helps even though its nto huge. I have been deconstructing them for the items and sometimes get an ingot which I can sell.

If you enter a Fighter's Guild, for example, and collect all of the "junk" weapons and armor lying around, you will find, occasionally, that some of them are green (fine quality). It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. They still aren't worth anything though.

I have noticed, however, in the higher-level areas (Coldharbor, Craglorn) that I get junk weapons and armor much, much less often. I think the white "junk" weapons and armor are seeded much more heavily towards the lower level areas in order to help new players out a bit.

I'm playing my vet 8, so I guess I'm just very unlucky so far. :)

I just think the "feel" of the system right now is a little lacking.

I'm just guessing here, but I think this will be changed in the near future, once the Justice system gets in place, remember that you will have to be careful from stealing something.

Now if you pick it ( steal it ) you won't get in trouble, so there shouldn't be any reward apart from the item.

But, there are weapon racks in dungeons and other places where there is no law.

I disagree that they should be worth anything. there are a lot of them, and they'd be constantly empty from weapon farmers! But I do think it would be nice if some of them had traits (Finding an ornate one would be really annoying, maybe that could be worth a couple of gold...).

And I think it would be great if every now and again it would actually be a good weapon. And THAT could maybe have a value.

I like most of your suggestions with the exception of rare finds. I can foresee a new army of bots farmiing racks for them.

as it stands now I avoid even touching the racks in case I get infected with a bevy of zero armor clogging my packs
