Do the pets really unsummon if you switch to your other bar away from the bar the pet summon button is on? Really lame.

Why is it lame? If you don't have it on your active bar, it shouldn't appear. It's no different than not slotting it on your bar at all.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, the clannfear is permanent CC, there should be a cost.

I agree. Are you saying you should be able to summon your pets from another bar, then switch to your main bar and completely blow away everything in your path with no tradeoff? To me, that would be much more "lame". I'm glad they make us actually think about what we put on our bars.

Bc I can pop back in forth between bars and use 10 abilities ... this takes it out of the picture

Well 9 powers ... but yeah ... that's the solution.

They still vanish. You'd have to reactivate them and waste more mana. It's strange how some abilities will carry over with a weapon slot, but some won't.

If the summons actually did even half-decent DPS... then the toggle burden -might- be justified.

As it is now? The trade-off is simply not worth. They are borderline useless in VR, and blatantly useless in PvP. They are not a threat, period. They are unbalanced to the under-powered beyond belief end of the spectrum.

In pvp they pretty much let everyone know you have no clue what you're doing. I guess that's helpful.

Toggles don't persist through a bar change unless on both bars. Timed duration abilities do.

Actually, if you have them in the same slot on both bars, they'll stay. At least, they stay for me.

I use the clannfear, at VR2 at least, as a tank - longest lasting root I've got ;)

pets have gone from, being totally useless to very situational now. Any sorc hogging 4 slots with 2 pets is a sign of someone with no clue.

Or someone playing as they like - if they're having fun what's your issue? Not only do I run with a pet I also dual wield, 'cause it's enjoyable and I usually survive.

Even more clueless is the guy who attacks the summons.

Well, not all skills shut off when switching (i.e. defensive stance), though I agree you should not have 2 pets and all your skills.

They disappear if you don't have them slotted in the same place on the other bar. It's one of the choices you make, have the summons or another ability It's the same coice every class makes, admittedly though it feels more pressured with sorcs.

Can't really play a true summoner, 2 pets and bound armour, on both bars, wouldn't leave much.

I know, Crystal shards and lightning for me at the minute, I have sword and shield on my other bar, so might put some weapon skills for that (I use it for when the mobs get too close)

If it would still be active on the other bar you would have an unfair advantage because you would have 6 or 7 abilities available, 5 from the current bar and 2 from the other bar if you have 2 pets active.

So really that is the fairest solution.

I have used the clannfear all the way through vr 1 to vr 10 PvE , really helps with groups of 3 mobs. Keeps one mob busy while you take out the other 2 .

It is up to you, if u have to have 2 pets and bound armor,, then something else will suffer for it. It is only upp to you.

I was merely noting that I, personally, view the trade off as too harsh to support that playstyle, others' mileage may, of course, vary.

    Reading this I was thinking..........

My Templar has his 4,5 key constantly used for self healing or survival.

For a Sorcerer having 2 pets.....one that heals when Im low on health and one that tanks for me.....

    I would probably slot...
    1. Crystal Shards(which ever morph)
    2. Structured Entrophy(Mages guild)
    3. ........up for debate what ever sounds fun at this point.

Or I would go with using Stamina build probably Dual Wield for the self heal.

The loss of the 2 abilities sounds like crap to you really look at the fact most other classes keep 2 slots available for stuff other than straight DPS....unless they are one of Those players IE crap.

This is a failing of the 1-9 skillbar. You lose 4 slots if you want your pets on both bars, you lose 2 slots to have inner light or bound armor...

The best way to solve this is to expand 1-9 Skillbar and a hard cap of 2 "Permanent" abilities (Familiar, Twilight, Armaments, Magelight) active. So you could slot all 4, but you could only activate 2 at a time.

    Within; Without.

Gotta say I wouldn't have bought this game if the skillbar was 1-9. I was worried about 1-5. I cant hit any thing past 5 while keeping my hands on WASD.
