Can pyromaniac DK work as a vampire?

Howdy all! I've recently become a vampire just to try it out. I'm a pyromaniac DK VR4 that uses predominantly fire-based attacks (both class and destro staff ones) and with that I have a couple questions:

1. Will I get a backlash from my own abilities, given the fact that most of the time everyone around me would be on fire?
2. If you have a similar build, how have you been able to incorporate vamp abilities into your skill rotation? For now I've replaced unstable flame with Drain Essence since most of my targets die too quickly for UF to be most effective.

    My DK vampire is at level 49, so I don't know if it changes when you get to VR; but I experimented when I first became a vampire because everyone was saying that I shouldn't use fire. I've never seen any evidence that the fire damage I put out comes back on me.

    I have a fairly un-vampiric skill bar. I use morphs of Fiery Reach and Searing Strike (or Stone Fist, depending on my mood), along with a flame-enchanted sword. I round out my skill bar with Drain Essence, Silver Bolts, and Green Dragon Blood. I have been known to use Bats, but I usually use Dragon Leap as my Ultimate.

    If I need a ranged attack, I'll switch to a flame-enchanted bow and change out my first two slots to Scorched Earth and Draining Shot. But I always keep Drain Essence and Silver Bolts handy no matter what.

    My DK is also a pyromaniac vampire (I find the irony of it amusing). I am sword and board w searing strike as my main fire offensive with molten whip and silver bolts (always a trusty stand by though I do use crippling slash) and corrosive armor is usually my ultimate.

    If health becomes an issue I swap to resto staff with igneous shield and ash cloud while I suck enemy health away w staff or drain essence. I don't believe any fire damage I initiate hurts me at least not that I've observed. I am also level 49. I just have to mainly watch for other DKs.
