Are we ever going to get an ignore feature on these forums?

  • kassandratheclericb14_ESO
    Hi guys,

We'd like to share the last update from @ZOS_AlanG regarding the Ignore feature on our forums.

Thank you for all your continuous support!
We appreciate all of the feedback about the ignore feature. We are still looking at our options here, but may have something soon.
Most of the forum improvements we are working on are interconnected, and we aren't able to push individual features live until all of the work is complete. We are looking at other improvements in the meantime, as well as separate forum bugs.

An ignore feature is being looked at currently!

Great to hear! Thanks for coming by and letting us know!!

i know of a old fashioned way for this: don't read it.

Of course this is true. However, when coming to the forum to find information on something specific, an ignore feature allows you to find it much easier.

You accidentally throw your watch away. Is it easier to search through a garbage can or the city landfill for it?

I can recommend the search function, works great to limit unrelated threads.

It would be nice to be able to ignore people. Sometimes I have people who will actually message me directly in PM to argue about something posted on the forum. It gets stupid dumb real quick like, especially when I can't stop them from sending me more and more and more.

Kinda sad that we asking for this. Instead of being a community.

I guess it has a good side for an ignore feature. No one would ever see my posts.

I don't know if some of you are being facetious or really don't understand that ignore button works only for that person that uses it. So if Raash of the search function up there decides they have had enough of my silliness..then they push the ignore button by my name (or add me to a list or whatever) and then they alone would not see my posts. Everyone...else...would.

I would also argue that the ignore feature helps make the community a little less on edge. Regardless, though everyone certainly has a right to voice their opinion on this feature...I just don't really understand why some are so venomously against something that would only impact those that want to use it.

this is not all that hard its quite simple really just install that app/mod and boom done. The admin team is making it out like its some massive feature it would take less then 5 minutes to add this. as i run a few different forums on The IPB scripting and on VB and a few others this is very simple stuff

Maybe...depends on how much they are doing from the ground up. I'm not sure it is a matter of how hard or easy but 1) if they want it and 2) where to put it.

I am sure they have a laundry list of things and this mat not be a top forum coder's priority.

my point is there using the VB scripting for this forum and everything adds or installs in like 2 secs very simple and easy to use. Everything is premade and pre coded
