Nah, the Beothuk were able to kick Viking butt, they were that tough. It took Englishmen with guns to take those guys out. I don't think the Miqmaq liked them very much, either. But then I've also heard how Cree talk about Dene; it's not very nice.

Nope that guy died almost 300 years before said Spanish explorer "found" the Americas. So whom ever agreed also seems to be a bit off on their time line of events.

What the Native Americans did was help fix his ship, which he then returned to Spain and reported his findings to the queen thus opening the flood gates for all European countries to "visit" the Americas.
