Difficulty should start at level 10, not VR1

I wish they would just a way so players could choose the difficulty they want and then instance the players to whatever they choose. Then every one is happy.
Far too many characters to list any more.

As mentioned above, this just cannot be done. It is impossible in an MMO. As an example why, just imagine a zone boss. 4 people group up to fight this boss. How would it work if one person in the group had their difficulty set to easy, while another member of the group had their difficulty set to hard? It wouldn't. It is hard enough to find groups in VR as it is already w/o splitting everyone up into additional phases. It would be a nightmare.

IMO there just needs to be some kind of compromise. My suggestion is to leave all of the public and solo dungeons they way they are and nerf the mobs outside. That way elitists can still enjoy hard content inside and casual players can still quest in peace and pick flowers outside. If that means solo dungeons would have to be duo'd in some cases, then so be it. At least it would be a compromise

I'd rather leave it how it is. I like picking flowers, knowing I could get killed by the daedric beasts that are thrust into Nirn by Molag Bal.

"Trash mobs" as they're commonly called. Should be more than just a slight annoyance.

Ideally, they could implement a 'difficulty phasing' toggle. This has already been suggested a few times by other players. Then you could choose between "Normal" and "Veteran" mode.

That would be impossible to do in an MMO. Literally impossible.
    Respectfully, you're mistaken.

Dynamic difficulty is trivial, and definitely possible. Many MMO's already offer such an option for instances. (solo, easy, normal, difficult) Adding it to encounters in the open world only requires the choice to add it.

Mathematically scaling up difficulty is as easy as increasing stats in response to what is brought to the fight, numerically.

One thing that would help this is to allow us to turn XP gain off. So a person like me could play with it off for a while and get under leveled to a point I like, and then re-enable it.

I guess I should have gotten a bunch of people to threaten to quit and cry about 1-50 being too easy. That might have helped my suggestion get somewhere.

Impossible huh? It already exists. Do you ever see any low level EP in Stonefalls as a VR AD? How bout some low lvl DC in Glenumbra as a VR EP?

    No?

That's because they can't be in your phase. There are different versions of the same zone. One for each Alliance and tuned to the lvl for that alliance. Why could a difficulty phasing not work this same way but within the same alliance?

I think the "tutorial" 1-50 is very good for people who are new to MMORPGs, as well as people new to Elder Scrolls in general, you need to keep in mind that this MMO is just starting, in no time VR12 won't be cap level, and 1-50 would probably eventually get even easier so people can get to VR faster. I see it as a way to send EVERYONE prepared to VR levels, both experienced and newbies. Just my 2 cents :)
