How important is PvP to you guys? I'm not asking for any arguments or talk about FPS drop or anything. Just how much you care for an MMO to have good PvP.

I'll give my opinion. It is one of the most important things to me in an MMO.
Hi there! My name is Vaht or as most people call me, pupsy. I am a somewhat casual PvE and casual small group pvp player. Dude, this game is totes fun and I love playing with friends while in a discord call.

I only have a dragon knight left to level and then i'll have one of each class at CP rank.

In terms of importance, it's somewhere in the middle for me. I enjoy pvp, but I am in general a pve player who dabbles in pvp for funsies.

I would be sad if this game didn't have it, but at the same time I'm not overly concerned with balance issues.

This sums up my feelings exactly. I enjoy playing PvP occasionally to mix things up, but I'm mostly a PvE player. Doesn't mean I don't want PvP in the game; it just means I don't place the highest importance on it.

PvP is the reason I'm here.

I like the PvE in TESO, and I've completed every bit of it other than Trials. But PvE endgames always get same-y and boring. Open-world, three faction PvP, however, has serious staying power. This is one of the few games that do a good job with it.

I only pvp as a theory crafting project, but usually only once I've taxed myself on pve content. an mmo without any pvp seems strange to me. but not necessarily a mandatory feature, especially if the setting doesn't call for it.

Very important to me as it is my endgame. Anyone who played DAOC basically fels that PVE is like your training ground to level for the PVP endgame. And with alliance warfare it really pushes the idea that you are leveling and building a character to protect and fight for your lands in Cyrodiil

Normally it's on of my top priorities in MMOs. I don't really care for it in ESO. I thought it would be great considering it was similar to DAoC, but there is something off about it, outside of the technical issues.

I cannot seem to muster a lot of hate for the opposing factions. In DAoC, there was something so different about the enemy that your natural xenophobia kicked in and you felt compelled to murder them.

Also, the size is a little too big for me. I enjoyed the size of the RvR stuff in DAoC, especially the super popular lower level stuff.

I usually don't do PVP in game. I hated open world PVP in some other MMO's I had played. I do like it being only in Cyrodill and love the big scale battle assaults. But I wouldn't be opposed to Arena style either.

Its a good thing but not my main focus.

MMO's rarely do PVP very well. You're better off with a MOBA or FPS for a real test of skill. MMO's tend to create too many situations where players win due to gear/level/class more than anything else.

Having said that, I purchased this game knowing full well that it was aiming for the old DAoC gameplay. I figured I'd play until I hit the point where PvP was my only option, and then move on to another game.

Strange... The most important thing for me in others mmo is often pvp.. this one I don't care... Perhaps I don't like big map pvp or that I really enjoy the pve in this game :)

I have played games before with a pvp server and was not really into it at the time. Then one day, a friend of mine told me about something called a red server! :)

Oh man, I was bloodied that day, but I never looked back and stayed on that server till the end...

I would have to say it is most of my game, gearing up and preparing my builds to meet that demand. Its always a nice feeling to go in prepared. I noticed in Cyrodil, I was a level 10, not even green armor or weapon, I think it was a level 4 sword lol.

I held my own in a fight, course I blocked the entire time and the nice vet group that took me in had that person for dinner; but, I served a purpose, bait, and I had fun with it.

I wouldn't be playing ESO without PvP/AvA. As good as PvE is (for an mmo) it pales in comparison to it's single player predecessor. Much of PvE is solo content and if I wanted just that I'd go play a TES game.

It's mid range importance for me. Interesting story lines and difficult dungeons is what I'm most interested in, but the AvA can be incredibly fun if I'm in the mood for it.

PvP has never interested me in the slightest apart from one game that, for me at least, did it right: Eve Online. I do give PvP a try in the other games I play, but generally it's "cartoon" PvP where after a death you pop right back to life, no loot taken, no gear damaged, no penalties - or worthwhile reward - at all.

To me its not important at all. All I see PvP do in games like this is cause fun classes and skills to get nerfed in the name of "PvP balance". I would be overjoyed if PvP was gone entirely.

It's fun but its the thing I do the least.

I would like it better if it was open everywhere with a justice system. Then when someone does the punk move of taking the resource I was fighting a mob to get to I can just kill them and feel much better about it.

I don't like or dislike PvP.

What I hate is having the PvE game balanced and nerfed around PvP.
I'm not prejudiced; I hate everyone equally !

Not important to me at all. If this game didn't have any PvP whatsoever, I would be perfectly happy.

In fact, it tends to be the PvP which causes all the headaches that game has to contend with lately.

Honestly Cyrodil is the most fun in PVP i've ever had. I ignored PVP in Wow since it required me to grind even more armor. Tried to get into SWTOR's but the character classes are too similar, and the warzones tend to be one sided. Don't get me started on Huttball.

Things I like in Cyrodil the most. One big map, filled with PVE that can become PVP, and the fact that there are 3 factions.

Now i haven't done much since i knew it would be janky for a while after launch, but from what I experienced so far, even while losing, I still have fun

Thanks for all the responses! I have another question for everyone. Do you guys think the FPS drop issue in PvP should be on Zenimax's top priority list?

I would be very surprised if it weren't, given the amount of flak it's generating.

yeah its deffinatly on their tops, which is making people who have other issues complain since now resources must be diverted to fixing this. Last i heard the 1.2.4 fix made it worse for some, and an emergency team is working on the issue.

Really.... its pretty terrible.....just target button mashing.....no reactional skls....no positional skills......

Eso is a great pve game. Pvp is laughable.

Dark Age of Camelot is the primier pvp rvr out there, and has been every year for 13 years.....

Those that love pvp..... step up to DAoC
