Provisioning Issue.

Just started to try and level up provisioning for the first time the other day. Did the usual go to a starting area, pillage the crates and barrels in town, log out, log in, etc.

The issue I have is that, while all of my secondary ingredients appear to be area leveled. 100% of the primary ingredients appear to scale to my level. I am VR12 and getting nothing but level 40, 45, 50 and VR primary materials, even in the lowest of starting areas. Have literally stacks of 40-VR level primary materials, and every lower level material I have gotten I have had to buy off people.

The only thing I can think of is that the primary materials for some reason is scaled off your character level instead of the area level or your provisioning level.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Grocer NPCs only sell the secondary ingredients, not the primary ones. But thank you for the help.

Even then, the vendor could not help me if I cannot get the ingredients to level past 20.

Yes people are having the same problem. There are two or three threads about this already in the crafting section, have a look there for some responses on what to do OP.

I may have done my provisioning slightly differently from most. i basically collected all the provisioning mats i could for about a month. then leveled it up in one session...(took about 30 mins to go from lvl 5 to 50). this left me with a ton of ingredients.

i was VR1(vr7 when i lvl'd provisioning) when i started collecting provisioning mats i didn't really pay much attention to what i was collecting or were but i had tons of low lvl mats left over.. I probably didn't even use 10% of the mats i collected. so i'm not convinced mat drops are lvl dependent.

this link maybe of help to you or other ppl.

I assume you did it pre the latest patch? Because the problem has only arisen post the latest patch.

collecting mats yes of course. i actually leveled this post update 2.

edit: i just did a quick test in vulkhel guard in 2-3mins farming i collected
    7 meal
    1 corn mash
    2 brown malt
    7 thin broth
    2 drippings
    3 wine grapes
all level 1-15 mats and secondary provisioning ingredients

make an alt level 3 and just have em run around town....no need for combat or skilling...should get more than enough to get you to 20 in two or three passes

Yeah no problem with leveling if you have the early mats. If you don't have the early mats the VR mats are no use to you as a level 1-5 provisoner that only has access to lvl 1 recipes, which is the problem the OP and other people in the threads above had.

Glad it is so easy to level provisioning. I have an alternate that I'm planning on making my provisioner for all of my other characters and I'm leveling him atm.

I am getting a lot of level 40 ingredients and level 1-3 ingredients in Vet Zone 6 (first land of third faction).

    Paywall.

We want to harvest them, like you blacksmiths can harvest Ore. How about all Trait Stones are only available on an NPC for 5,000 Gold each?

its not a paywall no one said you MUST use them its an alternative or top up option at best.. 5000g?? slightly over dramatic^^.. the mats are there i've just run around and found plenty.

Secondary ingredients are not the problem, got tons and tons of them.

The primary mats only seem to be dropping level 40+ for me. Went to lower level characters, primary mats seem to be dropping close to their level as well, regardless of which zone I go to.

I am just going to farm with them as a work around.

    Thank you for the help.

I thin they scaled it, yes. Solved the problem of low lvl mats droppig in vet zones, which is guess why it was done. Why it couldn't keep scaling with ZONE though is beyond me. Does sound rather silly.

Can we also fix recipes being scaled to level? I'm a completionist, which includes recipe collecting, and I would like to be able to farm alliance-specific recipes without having to recreate an alt in that alliance if my current alt is too high level to find lowbie recipes.
